spec: perfect spec, cookiecutter. i assume you have someone else to apply the -AP debuff, although prot paladins have no problems applying it themselves.

glyphs: the hammer glyph is not that great for raids, you might want to take the salvation one (assuming your DPS are not threatcapped).

gear: again, if you are not threatcapped, you might want to take +20 AGI on gloves, or even heavy borean armor patch. those are better for avoidance and EH respectively.

professions: great choice. you are probably the guild sharder?

i am not really doing raids, i'm not in a raiding guild.

Re: Rate the Paladin Tank above you!

I give 7/10 mainly because your gear level is low and forces you to gem def.
Some things if you have the cash for it:
Get Accuracy enchant on your weapon if you need the hit.
Swap out some gems to get the socket bonus in your gloves.

Spec looks good although you might want to move 1 point from SA to Crusade if you don't have mana issues.

    Link is in mah Sig.
I know I have too much def and might swap out some enchants but I'm waiting for new items to place them on.
    Armories:
    Pally: Chiaki
    Dk: Telare
    Warrior: Irlida

    Nice gearing gemming and whatnot.

Re: Rate the Paladin Tank above you!

    8/10

weapon enchant should be something else and few gear choices too

-T8 helmet sucks, it have block rating which is totaly useless to us and then you have blue gem on it, with green gem (15stam+10other stats) would give you 10 more hit/def for cost of 2 stam.
-gemming in chest is same type, 10 dodge is lost since he wants 6 stam.
-blade ward sucks, get mongoose if you want avoidance!
-armor trinkets aren't anymore so good what they were in TBC, get a stam trinket or pure avoidance trinket.
-gemming in legs sucks once again, you wanted 3 stam rather than 10 def/hit

I'd give you a 9.9/10, but then again, I'm not very hardcore. Might want a second opinion:P

    My tank:
    http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sh...hood&n=Lenthir

Just started playing him as prot 10 days ago, and gear's far from top-notch. It's fun though. Seeing as I don't raid, I've chosen to not go with the normal raidspec, but nevertheless respeccing as soon as I can afford it. Crap gems and no leg enchant due to the rapid upgrade of gear draining my gold-reserves:<

PS! If he's still wearing S2 head and green boots, it's because armory sucks at updating and I had it on for RP >.<
Real head is T8.5 and boots are the tempered saronite with +22 Stam enchant.

Edit: Just changed professions too, to mining / jewelcrafting

You're headed in the right direction. Looks like your professions aren't skilled up...but maybe that's an armory error or something. Toss an Earthen Leg Armor on those legplates, they are definitely good enough to warrant it. Good choice on the mining+JC professions; just read the last tidbit on your post.

(I'm WAY over the exp cap and under the hit cap... damn armor just isn't itemized as I'd like.)

I'll keep in mind all the things you said about just starting to play him again, but.....6/10

Epic defense gems will allow you to get more defense per socket, allowing you to gem for something better. Also, you have no defense rings, which would also keep you def capped, so you could gem better stuff. Spec isn't bad, just not optimal, imo. Glyphs are a bit odd when you think of your spec. If youre going with 2/2 SA and the DP Glyph, there really should be no mana problems and your Glyph of ShoR is being wasted. Def cap is certainly important, as we can tell from you gemming for it. All that said plus the fact that you havent played much, 6/10 aint that bad.

    My armory in my sig.

Edit: Fuck me. I logged out in my ret stuff. Can't change, I'm at work.

    A few thoughts here...
    - You shouldn't be gemming for parry with your stats. If you need the defense in a red socket, use a Stalwart (dodge/defense) gem. (i.e., your chest) Ditto for not using a straight parry gem at all; go dodge, or dodge/stamina, or just stack stamina (i.e., your gloves).
    - You could stand to rebalance your gems overall a bit as well. For instance, if you need the defense, go defense/dodge in your gloves, so that you can go straight stam in your belt. Or alternatively, put your green gem from your belt in your pants, and the stam gem from your pants to your belt. Then you're just a red/purple gem away from a socket bonus in your pants, and you haven't given up anything yet. Ditto for your boots.
    - Your chest isn't enchanted. A +22 def enchant there would give you a LOT more leeway to gem dodge/stam and defense/stam in your red and yellow sockets, picking up a lot of +stam socket bonuses (not to mention stam overall).
    - You need shoulder enchants.
    - Glyph of Seal of Vengeance is *FAR* more effective for threat (and also partially for indirect mitigation by reducing parries and boss parry-haste) than Glyph of Judgement (assuming you want the utility of Glyph of HotR).
    - Minor glyph of Sense Undead - free tps and dps against undead mobs!
    - Your spec is a little odd. A few items here...
    - The armor bonus from Imp Devo is valuable. You should be 3/3. (Not to mention the healing bonus if you don't have a resto druid)
    - Unless you ONLY ONLY ever off-tank, you should REALLY have Judgements of the Just. It's a big deal for reducing incoming damage from bosses.
    - You really only need 1/2 Imp Judgements to keep up a proper 969 rotation
    - You should really only need 1/2 Spiritual Attunement, and also don't need points in Benediction at all (unless you use 1 point as a filler to get to the 3rd tier in ret). If you're having mana problems, this implies you need to work on keeping your Divine Plea up more effectively, not that you should spec more for mana regen/reduction.

I hope that helps a little!

Edit: My armory is in my signature, although I don't have my standard maintanking gear set equipped. I logged out in my "spiffy" set.

Cheers mate, I'm not that much of a hardcore raider, usually end up doing the odd uld run with my mates raiding guild if they're running alts thru etc.

I used that spec to solo level from 70 onwards and haven't changed it since, didn't really consider specing for raiding since I hardly do it, but will have a look into a respec and see how it plays out

Neuga, i'm not a fan of your spec... i feel crusade is more TPS then Seals of the pure. Gear looks ok and gemming is fine. I'm not a fan of blade ward either... If you aren't hit capped Accuracy is the way to go IMO...

It shows me logged off in my RP set... so i'll have to log off in my tank gear.

If you're doing more heroics and just the occasional raid, I think you'll find Judgements of the Just to be helpful in your spec, along with the full value of Imp Demo Aura (without a druid in the group, 2 points in Imp Devo Aura is worth 4 points in Divinity!). You might also consider moving 2 points from Divinity to Imp Hammer of Justice, since there's a lot of utility to that stun in heroics (and with that talent and Judgements of the Just, your hammer only has a 20 second cooldown!).

If you're doing more heroics than raiding, you might also consider moving 2 points from Benediction and 1 point from Imp Judgements into Imp Blessing of Might or Heart of the Crusader, since neither of those buffs may be provided by anyone else in many heroics runs.

    I hope that helps!

I'm not a fan of gemming for defense. A good ring or weapon with def on it would help you there. I do like the use of a couple dod/stam gems though. I don't really like the Boreal Guard as a shield either. I mean, it looks awesome and has those 2 sockets which are great, but Wall of Terror was better imo, and the one in 25 ToC regular is pretty phat atm.

    I like overall, 8.5/10

I know, I know, I'm ret spec'd still. I just enjoy pally tanking alot and seeing what other people do with there gear and such. Next person, go.
