Healing trinket proc for warlocks?

The trinket "The Egg of Mortal Essence"
"Your durect healing and heal over time spells have a chance to increase your haste rating by 505 for 10sec."

Fel Armor ticks can proc the effect.

But can the "Fel Synergy" talent make it proc as well?
Incase it can, then it technically also proc each time you use a harmful spell, which deal damage.
Fel Synergy 2/2: "You have a 100% chance to heal your pet for 15% of the amount of spell damage done by you."

In theory this should make it proc, but does it really make it proc? somone tested without Fel Armor or Soul Leech / Improved Soul Leech?

Actually I think it still works.

However its a horrible trinket. Theres much better, easier to obtain.
