Arena - hunter shield ??

Hello All

Came across something very strange last night and need to know a bit more info...

We (druid & rogue) came across a pala & hunter combo.

Ignore the pala at this stage as he was cc'ed and general getting messed with, i (the rogue) opened on the hunter only for him to keep getting a shield ?

Graphics like a priest shield making all attacks immune, was on a low CD, maybe 30 secs and stopping what felt like 10k + of damage.

Please allow for a little over exaggeration in both the Cd and the amount of damage stopped as i was in "what the hell !! " mode

Can anyone shed some light on what either they or he was using, maybe something to do with the pet ?

Your issue was Sacred Shield most likely.

Sacred shield most likely as Deterrence has a way other graphic.

Sacred shield can absorb for quite alot 4-5K(?) I think. And that every 6 seconds.

I've not come up against this problem before and faced enough pala's (but yes arena is a side event for me, so might just be me)

The shield itself withheld a 5 point (with 100% crit chance) finishing move.. ???

Ill put it down to an experience and see if i come across it again

Coming from a paladin. Sacred Shield is a powerful buff, but it can only be on one target a time, and costs a nice amount to apply. 600 mana i think. It scales with SP, and ret paladins do have quite an amount of SP in their stat tree, due to Sheath of Light

Was it a prot paladin? Their Sacred Shields absorb quite a bit more than Holy Paladins.

its sacred shield bro... and its not immune. its absorb..

and yes that thing is able to suck all rogues energy pool and burst and still not even touch the hunter if the rogue doens't crit

if it was absorb it was the pala shield maybe proct 2 times
if it was immun it was maybe the effekt of an amor out of aq that gives immun to meele attacks for 5 seks or so

so an Prot pally (depending on gear ofc) usually have 2500 SP - that's 1725+500 = 2225 dmg absorbed, every 6sec :>

...2500 SP? You must mean a HOLY Pally (or a Prot healer, I guess).

Tell your druid to go to priest school and learn the dispell ability, I hear it works on stuff like this :P

This would fit that description perfectly. 30sec cooldown and will make your attacks go immune.
