    Re: Trinket question

short answer: keep both for different situations.

personally, i'd use the JC one still as parry is subject to DR, whereas stamina isn't, and 101hp5 is meh when you're being hit for 15-20k every 2 seconds.

I run 6 diff trinkets for diff situations.. Brewfest x2 for magic fights, black heart / JC for standard situations.. and on fights where i need alot of avoidance / block / w.e i run my http://www.wowhead.com/?item=49487 and a Dodge trinket and a buncha block .. (heroices etc / tanking adds on anub etc)

As Soul said, you will need both for diff situations. A well rounded / geared tank will have gear for every situation. I have replaced alot of gear while going through harder content, but I've never gotten rid of a trinket, (except for Gossamer). Just toss em in your bank, never know when you might need one.

So you're also in the "zomg diminishing returns" department, let me tell you one thing: Stamina is subject to """"""diminishing returns"""" (the more you have, the less of a % increase to your health pool you get)

The actual reason why the Onyxia trinket is not that great is because Avoidance itself is lacking, because of it's RNG nature, while more EH (Armor*Stamina) will help you survive in a reliable way.

true, but that's the case for any stat. i meant it in that the parry on an item almost will never be as much as the rating converts to because of the DR whereas, say, 129 stam from the crab (without talents, buffs etc) will always give you 1290 hp.

because bosses always hit for exact percentages of your health, rite?

Let's assume you have 1000 health -> the trinket gives a huuuuge increase to your survivability. (129%)
Let's assume you have 1000000 health -> the trinket gives you close to nothing. (0.129%)

That's just oversimplifying but the same goes for parry (I assume some 40% parry as the cap and simplify the DR math)
Assume you have 0% parry -> you get +2.2% from the trinket -> a great increase.
Assume you have 20% parry -> you get +1.1% from the trinket -> a weak increase.
Assume you have 39% parry -> you get +0.05% from the trinket -> close to nothing again.
