Edge of Agony will probably put out more damage due to the slower speed, and thus, higher top end damage. The stats are also allocated decently, though not ideally.

This is pretty relevant because I had the same issue. The edge of agony that drops from normal 10man is a slight upgrade from WC with more crit (although slightly lower AP). Whereas the 10man heroic version actually turns out to be quite a large upgrade of WC (for me it was ~300dps). I really wasn't inclined to take it because I much prefer +str weapons, but until http://www.wowhead.com/?item=48695 drops (love the str and i need the hit), i will make do with edge of agony - the 245 version.
Worldcarver does about 874 dmg on avg before ArP and Edge of Agony does about 872 dmg on avg before ArP and assuming you put a 20 str gem in it so unless you will fall drastically below the exp cap without Worldcarver it looks like Edge wins out due to its better spread of stats and that it will due more dmg on a swing when you factor in its ArP (the avg wep dmg was calculated assuming u have BoK and full pts in divine strength).

Yes i was talking about the 10-man version sorry i didnt say that earlier... ok since obviously WC has more AP, when does the higher top end dmg makes up for the lost AP?
It's a loss of 75 AP in this case assuming you use a 20str gem in the Edge and you have kings but while you lose that much AP you gain crit and ArP and higher wep dmg is almost always going to be a boost in overall dmg. All but exorcism, SoR, and consecrate have weapon damage as a factor which means the majority of your damage is affected by weapon dmg so the main reason for AP as with all physical dmg classes is to increase wep dmg. The way to calculate how much avg wep dmg is increased by AP is: (wep dps +(AP/14))*wep speed found here http://www.wowwiki.com/Attack_power.
Short answer if the AP on a wep increases it's avg wep dmg past another with higher base dmg it almost is always going to be better.
