    3.3 haste and crit

Gday guys im a crit fan for my spriest i sit around 700 crit rating and 450 haste unbuffed

i look at these changes and now im strongly considering haste over crit.. i failed math and i cant do the numbers so has anyone worked out what the PP will be? and if its worth gemming SP+haste on yellow sockets instead of SP+CRIT? (i do realise that PTR is buggy)

    thanks

    Re: 3.3 haste and crit

General rule of thumb is that haste is slightly better than crit point per point for classes that scale well with haste. That stems mostly from 1% haste being less rating than 1% crit.

PP is worked out from thousands of DPS simulations, there isn't some simple math calculation to work it out. There might be some results at simcraft, not sure... I normally wait until things go live and research my info then.

i think for pvp haste would be better than crit.. cuz its not affectet by resi
and it gives you more burst!...

I'm thinking this as well. 3 dots ticking very quickly could be pretty evil on a PVP target.

Hey, what's "PP" ? I don't mess around with simcrafting too much being a healer and all.

Psuedo power. Basically, it's your different stats' worth compared to eachother in terms of pure, perfect rotation 0 ms dps.

1 Spellpower is worth 1 PP, I think right now 1 crit is worth about 0.7 PP, and last I checked I belive 1 haste was worth something around 0.54 PP. Regardless, Spellpower will always be the best stat in terms of dps. PP is used to weight the combined stats of different items against eachother to see which one's the best.

With the new changes coming up I belive haste will be worth a hell of a lot more. How much I can't tell, if you'd want to take haste over crit even after soft and/or hard capped.

So PP is just another term for stat weights then?

Pretty much, yeah. Check out shadowpriest.com if you want to learn more, they're doing number crunching over there like there's no tomorrow.

    Re: 3.3 haste and crit

I recall seeing that atm, crit is slightly better than haste, but not by much.

With the massive haste buff and all, I can see haste becoming more valuble.

    Re: 3.3 haste and crit

It seems as if haste will become better but looks like were waiting till it goes live to find out if it will be better then crit or not.

    Re: 3.3 haste and crit

The simcraft results i've seen (which may have changed) had haste valued even above spell power... so it's a massive change. We just need to see how accurate those simulations really are.

All simcraft results from legitimate sources have put SP=1 Haste=.99 Crit=.72 for 3.3 which is basically SP=Haste in 3.3

Just for reference these are the PP values on live SP=1 Haste=.65 Crit=.72-.76 (alot of debate on how much it is worth as the crit is a RNG stat and less reliable, so harder to judge.)
