T9 (245) chest vs Knightbane Carapace

I have sufficient emblems to purchase crusader orbs to craft Knightbane Carapace, but will likely have the option soon of a trophy to use towards Malfurion's Raiments of Triumph.

Would I be better off going w/ the crafted piece or the T9 item? I don't need the hit, so that's not an issue... And I currently have my 4pc T9 (245 legs, 232 head/shoulders/gloves), so the T9 chest wouldn't make my 4pc - though it would enable me to pick up the Duskstalker Pauldrons.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

for tanking i would go for the T9 chest

it will have 30 less stamina becase of less socket but u gain nice haste / crit for tps

but if u wana go for pure hp then go for the crafted one ofc

Duskstalkers are identical to 9.25 shoulders.

I crafted my Knightbane because I had money to burn at the time and needed to satifsy hit rating for my DPS set so I use it for both tanking and dps right now. I'll eventually use the 9.25 when I get some trophies. Everything gets upgraded come 3.3 so I would try to maximize whatever resources you have. You might be better off buying orbs with gold instead of badges. They are down to 800g on my server.

Sorry, should have clarified that my main role is tanking. This toon is an alt, so won't see ToGC till IC has been out a bit. I suppose I can craft the carapace for now (optimized for tanking) and shift it to a kitty spec later when I pick up the tier piece.

Breaking your set bonus sounds bad... You also do not need the hit so I would stick with the tier piece.

The 4pc set bonus for bear is nice, but nothing I'd be too terrified of losing - but that isn't an issue regardless, as the I've got the 4pc from the other slots - the chest I'm replacing is the T8.25 chest.
