Re: The constant 'bigging up' of boss characters...

Neltharion was considered to be the most powerful of the aspects, with Alextrasza following, then Nozdormu, then Malygos and Ysera.

    Why?

Because Neltharion was charged with the literal physical creation of the landmasses of Azeroth, granted the power to raise and level mountains, to tear up new volcanoes and scour valleys of his own will. If I understand the Cataclysm event as it's meant to happen, he will be using his sheer strength to shatter the very universal boundaries between the elemental plane and the material plane. Mind you, the elemental plane was something created ENTIRELY by the Titans to imprison the Old Gods and their elemental lieutenants. And he blows it up with his body.

It's entirely probable that the Old Gods have infused Deathwing with even greater power. If we wanted to talk extra-fun speculation, perhaps an Old God has entirely possessed him and now works through him. We know extremely little about Deepholme, where Deathwing has evidently been holed up.

For those saying that you don't think he's all that, think about this:

The reason Blizzard gave for the new Blackrock Spire dungeon was that Twilights Hammer cultists were filling up the upper reaches. You know how they said the cultists got there? Because Deathwing personally bored a gigantic tunnel all-the-fuck the way from frickin' Grim Batol. Those in the know refer to that as 'pants-wettingly powerful.'

At least use a little common sense, the human form is more of a condensing of the aspects form. Deathwing has titanium plates welded onto himself just to hold himself together. If he can't contain whatever power he's got inside in his true form, what chance would he have at condensing his form and adding even greater strain to his body.

He has held a human form post iron plates before, what has changed from then to now that makes it impossibled? It isn't because the Demon soul was destroyed, he pulled his stunt with the human kingdoms after he lost his ability to use its power.

world of warcraft just likes to resemble dragonball z.

there'll constantly be some guy who can just blow up the world, unless he is stopped. Which fortunately is never time bound.

First of all Deathwing is not in Grim Batol, the abandoned dwarf city. He is being "healed" by the Twillight Hammer clan in The Temple of Earth, deep below Grim Batol, 'cause appearently breaking through dimensions is exhausting work (this was confirmed at Blizzcon, can't be assed to find the source). Since we have no idea how big this temple is, he might very well be the biggest of the aspects.

Secondly, the Old Gods are using Deathwing as a pawn, and they've empowered him tenfold, I'm fairly sure those were the exact words at Blizzcon, though I might remember wrong and it was just a part of Boub's guesswork. But if he's being used as a pawn, he probably wouldn't know so his ego wont be hurt. The definition of using someone as a pawn is using them withóut their knowledge you know.

Also for all the people saying he can't possibly take a human form because of his condition, you are wrong. During Day of The Dragon he took the form of Lord Daval Prestor, and this was while his powers were at their absolute peak. It was also long time after he nearly ripped himself apart and got his adamantite plating.

He's as big as Deathwing's Fall.

Yeah, deathwings power is only 8000 at most. This reminds me of the old star-trek vs star wars debates where people would equate cool with power. Just because its cool doesn't mean it can shoot lazers out its butt and bend spoons with its mind. Think with your brain, not your geek heart.

Well he has been hiding, gathering strength for quite some time now. Maybe even being empowered by an old god. It's a safe bet to say he'll be stronger in Cataclysm than he even was.

yeah lets balance encounters around lore rofl. Deathwing will be stronger than anyone we fought before for gamemechanics if he wasn't the fight would be absurdly easy. Deathwing is a scripted npc in a fictional videogame. he isnt angry or scary hes just a npc. there is no lore theres just mobs with health bars and easy little pve mechanics needed to beat them.

I'm pretty sure the biggest boss in actual size is Supremus, in Black Temple.
