    Prot dps in pvp help?

Hi all, i've been looking around for a while but have yet to find a good guide for prot in pvp. I have had some success in BGs but have yet to step into arena, i want to fine tune a bit first. Can anyone point me to a guide and or a dps calculator or spreadsheet that i could use, or a good guide.

most of the tutorial's info still apply to paladins. stacking block value for added burst (not the armor pen part).

only difference is since 3.2, block value was capped at ~2700 with diminishing returns so you can't stack it as much but it is still worth it to stack it for PvP as well as Crit (with the Crit+ Crit damage meta gem)

    what is dks prot spec?

So you're saying that doing more damage in pvp, having better CC, and being able to run around untouched all the time is worse off then ret?

    I believe you!

Umm, I would have assumed that Strength is the stat to go after reaching the BV cap, due to how the new Touched by the Light scales really well with Strength now. That extra SP means more damage for your Judgements, Seals, Avenger's Shield, Consecration, and I believe Holy Shield. Not to mention Strength still gives quite a bit of BV, so that means less raw BV stacking needed.

This topic on AJ actually features some talk about Prot Pallies breaking 2k in Arenas.

Just for further help on how prot works in PvP:

    http://www.wowarmory.com/arena-game....n&gid=20210077

Some terribad paladin doing 90k more damage then me in a 3 min match.

Can only wait till pallys use the 2 piece T10 in there and are hitting for 6k+ every 6 seconds gonna be great!

Asking to do damage as a tank only asks for trouble and gets you nerfed. Leave the dps to the dps specs.

Yeah, I'd imagine that 2 piece T9 + 2 piece T10 will lead to insane HotR damage. Not to mention we already excel at damage against mobs of players already.

AV Turtle + SoC + A slow high DPS 1-Hander = Massive numbers flying, as well as topping in BG damage. :P

You dont want that to happen. Hey why is a tank able to do more damage than someone who specs for damage?!!! They have crazy survivability and now crazy dmg?

Blizzard: well we cant have this lets lower all their damage coefficients but increase threat gen so as tanks they can still keep threat but no longer will they get crazy numbers!

I rotate between this gear and relent legs/pve ret helm depending on my mood I guess.. haven't really been able to distinguish a clear cut difference. Don't mind the gem in the t9 helm, I still use it for pve tanking, so agi/stam > * on my lvl of dodge rating.

The amount of defence/block gear I'm "stacking" here really should be the max, and I only do it cause equipping the 2 pieces directly buffs my shieldslam *hits* by 459 +5% while buffing hotr's damage by 5%.. I still however lose 4% crit and some AP, even with my t9 tanking legs having ret gems and enchant.

Basicly don't listen to those saying stack blockvalue , I'm just under the cap allready with these 2 bits, and it's the max you should get imo

Re: Prot dps in pvp help?

you DEFINITELY have more survivability as prot in PVP, the damage is slightly less than ret but the Burst is about the same with all skills considered. just ret can keep going while we're waiting on some cooldowns to come back to burst again.

and better CC as in shorter HoJ cooldown and daze effect on top of silence for Avenger's Shield do make it a bit better CC.
