Bane is a progression-oriented guild on Baelgun formed in 2007 to tackle endgame raiding content. After securing many firsts throughout TBC, including server first Black Temple and SWP clears, we continued to strive for progression in WotLK, blowing through hilariously easy T7 content and obtaining both Naxx25 and Malygos25 server firsts. We are 9/9 in Ulduar 25 hardmodes (ironbounds hooray) with the server first Algalon 10 and 25 kills under our belts.
In T9, our current standings are as follows:
- 5/5 ToC10 and 25 (MANY 10mans running weekly, two 25mans each week)
- 5/5 ToGC10 - Two groups; A Tribute to Insanity.
- 5/5 ToGC25. Tribute to Skill.
Our Raiding Schedule:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday. 5pm-9pm server (PST).
Invites start around 4:30.
Raids may go 30 minutes to an hour over when pushing for server firsts, but this is not often necessary.
Our current needs are:
- Experienced main spec healers of all sorts.
- A well geared rogue able to make all 4 raid days.
Exceptional applicants of any class/spec are always welcome to apply as well!
Loot System:
Bane uses a Loot Council system to handle the distribution of items in our 25 man progression runs.
Potential applicants are expected to:
- Understand their class, spec and role. We hate having to teach people how to play their class in the middle of a raid, and it reflects poorly on you as a recruit if we have to take time out to explain how basic mechanics work.
- Be well geared at a level adequate to perform optimally in hardmode content. We understand that skill sometimes outweighs gear, but gearing up takes time. It goes without saying that your gear MUST be gemmed and enchanted appropriately. This includes the use of EPIC quality gems. Glyphs are inspected as well.
- Have experience in Ulduar (at least up to Yogg, preferrably hardmodes) and ToC. If you've never even step foot into either of these, you're going to be at quite a disadvantage.
- Have and use Ventrillo. It's a useful tool. Even our partially deaf members use it. You have no excuse.
- Maintain a fairly regular high attendance routine. We're looking for quality players that desire progression, not one or two night a week players that will flake on us when needed most. During your recruitment period you will be expected to be present for every raid invite, and easily reachable if sat.
- HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR AND A THICK SKIN. This is very important. Most of our raiders are in their 20s and like to have a good time while we raid. We joke around a lot. This is a mature raiding environment. If you are easily offended or can't take a joke you absolutely will not fit in here. We love our minorities and sexy accents.
