Shield of Righteousness is only improved by SBV, so obviously SP and AP will not affect the damage done by it.

No, however additional str will increase the damage of your other abilities and it most likely your best stat to stack.

Theres not block value cap, tho theres a damage cap where Shield of Righteous or Shield Slam dosent benefit from more block value.
The limit is 2640 BV or so.

Dunno how it is with shield of the righteous, but with shield slam you can get more damage with arp, but I assume SotR is holy damage?

OT, but use helm and legs t7.5, gloves and shoulders t8.5.. (all have BV and 2 good set bonusus for prot dps) and get a BV librem and you should be already around that cap, then fill the rest of your slots with crit gear, ive experimented with this and the dmg is realy nice. ive seen 7k shield crits on 800 resil players (without wings) =) coupled with the AS glyph, the dmg can be insane.

Prot PVP would refer to the actual prot tree being used by a prot and is almost all prot. His name is the popular idear of using a good chunk of ret. Making it not just prot.


I know it's hard to think of anything else but there being Ret specs using other trees, but try to remember, DPS and such isn't all a Pally was made for.

SHIELD OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.... There is no Word in the there that starts with the letter "T"

so the abbreviation is ShoR NOT SotR....




and BDF... don't think that what you're saying is a new concept, alot of us Prot have already been PVPing as a Prot Damage class focused on High burst with the Glyph of Avenger Shield and PVE PRot gear to increase our Block value where we get bigger burst AND bigger survivability. if you focus too much on STR/CRIT you get a little more burst than you would in PVE gear but then you lose survivability. To each their own but i prefer having both.

Strength will increase the damage done by ShoR. Only BV as a stat is capped by ShoR. BV gained from strength, however, is not capped. Nor is the inherent block value on your shield (I think).
