Varian has just gained +10000 rep in my eyes, speaking as a horde who has detested his ass for quite some time. Hopefully this signals the possibility of a truce between the alliance and horde.

Alliance Horde Truce WILL NOT happen with Garrosh leading the horde. Fuck the ass hole might segregate the damn Horde let along assault the Alliance.

Well if Blizzard keeps in line with their lore (which on more than one occasions have not), Darion is to become the wielder of the Ashbringer, closing the story chapter of the DK starting quest (Alexandros "Ashbringer" Mograine telling him that one day he will wield the Ashbringer, mete justice across the land, but it is not this day). This can easily sum up to him becoming the next King of the Flying Dutch... emm Icecrown Citadel.

I would like to see Bolvar or Tirion sacrificed though, Bolvar being fitting as "the one who would not succumb" and Tirion because his character should end at some point before he gets "burned" (if he hasn't already). The typical "my life for the life of others" cliche would still work.

As we all know though Blizzard never takes the "easy" approach on things. (they more often than not prefer to take the BAD one ;D)

Until now I had just assumed that as creator and overlord of the Scourge, everything the Lich King had wrought would simply be undone the moment he died. But now it's like the Scourge has become it's own entity instead of just an extension of the Lich King.

I mean, no one within the Scourge is as powerful as the Lich King is now. Are they saying that at this point, the Scourge can never be truly annihilated? Only controlled?

Thats what I was thinking and from the conversation with Jaina saying that somebody has to be the lich king or the scourge will overrun Azeroth, I see him sacrificing himself!

Possible, but Uther's kinda dead already. His spirit's floating around obviously from what we've seen (and read now), but the Lich King's gonna need a body too unless we go into that entire "Ner'zhul stuck in the throne" stuff again. My best bet honestly would lay on Fordring sacrificing himself to keep the Lich King's powers in check. Heck, maybe we'll even see Fordragon opt to take up the blade as he's already technically been dead once.

somehow i think of sylvanas becoming the new Lich Kqueen just because she commands alot of undead already and since were gonna mow down whats left, she might as well take any stragglers so they dont sit there and faceroll whatever nitwits come to NR after cata hits to level archeology.

Don't know if anyone allready sugested this, but if there has to be another controller of the scourge, well...maybe silvanas takes over it, as a lich queen or something?

Everyone knows, the deeper the voice, the more hardcore you are. Personally though I'd have prefered the higher pitched voice as the 25man one. To me it somehow sounds more...creepy?

I also do not understand how killing the current lich king and infusing someone else with the power would do any good seeing as how that person would eventually become as corrupted as arthas.

Last but not least how could arthas's defeat lead to anything more than a sudden surge of free minded forsaken, I mean I highly doubt the majority of the scourge was crazed bloodthirsty killers in life.

Considering that was back before Arthas was part of the Lich King, the Scourge might play by entirely different rules now. There are many others besides the Lich King who can resurrect the dead.

Also, not Tirion. Please. As a diehard Horde to a freakish degree of loyalty and love for all things green-skinned, I like Tirion almost as much as Thrall. There needs to be more tolerant, awesome alliance lore figures. Don't take Tirion!

P.S. Jaina the Lich Queen would be so amazing the very thought of it makes my toes tingle.

I think it will play out in the terms off:

1) We destroy Frostmourne. (from the inside?)
2) We kill Arthas. (weaken, and someone deals the "final" blow)
3) The new Davey Jones picks up and wears the helm (Lich King death animation)
4) ?
5) World of Warcraft: Casualysm hits the shelves. ;D
