i 100% agree. it could be called "cunt retard asslicker's regalia" or "dickchin asshair's garb" as long as it looks cool. i do think the frost theme will be cool if they do it right, which they better because its taken so god damn long. what im trying to say is, each piece better conform to the godliness of shamans as a class. all the pieces better have 1000+ int, 1000+ stm, 1000+ sp/ap, you get the idea. i also better get a free, instant cast 1000% speed flying and ground mount. annnnd 2billion gold.

    thanks blizz.

Poor choice of words on the set name, yes. But Shaman are also known by other names, such as:

    http://thesaurus.reference.com/browse/Shaman

    Main Entry: shaman
    Part of Speech: noun
    Definition: religious specialist
Synonyms: healer, medicine man, priest, sorcerer, witch doctor

Re: Shammy Tier 10 shall be called Frost Witch's Garb/Regalia/etc

I don't think it matters if it's called "Frost Witch" because it doesn't necessarily mean that Blizzard are saying WE are witches, we're simply wearing the armor of one (and while it's common to associate the word "witch" with females, male witches can easily exist as well). A Rogue wearing a geist outfit doesn't make that Rogue a geist, and a Mage isn't suddenly a necromancer. If anything these tier sets seem like disguises to help us blend in when we're running around ICC.

If you're really that worried that we're going to end up looking like the more traditional kinda witch (pointy hat, broomstick, warty nose, etc) then just look at Warlock T10. I doubt Blizzard'll have us looking very similar since Warlocks and Shamans are not alike.

That said, I can see why it's not that fitting considering our old tier set names (Skyshatter, Earthshatter, Cataclysm, etc) and we only have 1 or 2 spells that are in the frost school to begin with, but I'm gonna withhold judgement until I actually see the tier set. There's obviously a reason Blizzard have delayed it this long and I guess they found it more difficult to come up with something suitable for us since shamanism and the Scourge don't really mix, not even in a dark way (you could argue that the Lich King was a former Shaman but I disagree, Ner'zhul stopped being a Shaman once he was imprisoned by Kil'jaeden and pretty much stopped existing altogether once Arthas decided to consume him).

Frost Witch.... Hmmm. Return of FROST SHOOOOOCCKKKK

2 piece set bonus should make Frost Shock OP. Would make it make more sense.

There are Vykrul(sp?) Shaman, undead ones too, which is what the set will probably be based on if this isn't a brand new creature.

Re: Shammy Tier 10 shall be called Frost Witch's Garb/Regalia/etc

this is merely a consideration, but maybe blizz spew out that name because:
1.) they really forgot about us and realized we´re getting impatient, so with the name they want to remind us: we didn´t forget about you, here is the name, we´re on it
2.) the name frost witch tells us: the sets gonna be frost themed, which most shaman wanted as were in the northern continent northrend and in icecrown citadel. also it´s the first time we really get a frost set ( no, s6 and s7 do not count ) so they published the name more to inform us how it´s roughly gonna look like. maybe it will not called frost witch at all, but ice shatter, glacial fury, frozen wrath or whatever. in other words: placeholder name
3.) the name witch does sound unusual for shaman, yes. but the only class i would really associate with that name would be the shaman. dk has frost but is rather a knight than a witch, mage isn´t evil enough, he´s to pure. and wl doesn´t have anything to do with frost. shaman has frost and witch doctors/shamans/medicine mans etc, however you may call them are pretty close to what you call a witch.

Re: Shammy Tier 10 shall be called Frost Witch's Garb/Regalia/etc

As stated above, the Shaman does have somewhat similarities with a "Witch" especially from the paganistic view of the Shaman, they are wisemen/women, witch doctors, voodoo practisers, medicine men, spiritual doctors, etc. etc. Mostly things a witch is assosciated with too.

But I am very very very curious what the set is going to look like

    Shaman = Witch Doctor.
    Witch Doctor = Frozen Witch
Frozen Witch = Shaman with the power of Teraflu, Nightquil, Dayquil, LemonTea, Vicks, Hallz, honey and lemon.
