Is there DR on silences?

I ask because some of my guildmates say there is, some say there isn't, and in my personal experience, I've been garroted followed by strangulate and it felt like an eternity before I could cast again. But in the heat of an arena match it's hard to tell.

So do silences suffer from Diminishing Returns like CC does or do silences always last full-duration (sans talents/meta) even when chained back to back?

Yes silence effects (not interrupts) share a DR - this was added in 3.08.

Yes, but I will agree the DR doesn't seem too effective since by the time a caster reaches that point you or a teammate is dead. I wish the DR on stuns and silence were duration based since damage doesnt break silence and some stuns are specifically designed not to break on damage.

Um, another question... Avenger's Shield (Shield of the Templar, rather) isn't listed on the WoWWiki page as one of the silences that shares DR. My prot pally 2s partner kills healers with AS->HoJ->Arcane Torrent, which was the other reason I thought silence wasn't on DR. Is Avenger's Shield just not on silence DR for some reason, or is he killing people with a half-duration arcane torrent?
