Thread: ArPen in PvP

    ArPen in PvP

In PvE ArPen gemming is clear: bosses have enormous amounts of armor, so you want to ignore it as much as possible, but squishy clothies lack it. Most high-rated Warriors stack it all the way, but would it make sense to stack ArP as a pvp cat assuming that i have access to the most items of the EJ BiS list and my beloved Mjolnir Runestone?
Weak theorycrafting attempts led me to believe that while maximising ArP my overall damage output will be lower, but more bursty.

DURIDS IS MUST ALWAYZ HALP EECH OTHER :P

Not entirely sure but I know for Warriors once a certain class has over ~6200 armor ARPEN outweights strength.

The other way for a feral to socket is through agi and you get not just AP but crit! So I'm not entirely sure if the agi (AP + Crit) would be better than the arpen.

    Agi > ArP

Sk-gaming shows a lot of high rated ferals having agi only so that would probably the be the best.

    I'm a tool though!

    Re: ArPen in PvP

I think Agi is still betterfor a druid because of the many clothies out there and also because warriors dont have to worry about their armor or health pool much. As a druid you need to go bear to survive longer in many situations, hence the use of Agi for more armor, benefiting your cat with more ap and crit.

PVE/ArP gear works ok in lower brackets where most people don't have a lot of resilience and you can blow somebody up in the opening exchange. Once people have enough resilience to survive your opener then it becomes a game of who can outlast who. At this point you will need to use PVP gear which has a lack of ArP. Also, ArP does not feed Nurturing Instinct which is a very good PVP talent to have.

Thanks a lot for the replies, i've completely forgotten about agility's survival-enhancing part.
Good luck, fellow cats and bears!
