    summons pet if your pet isn't up (aka it's dead), casts pet nova if it is alive. Changes tooltip based upon which of these two will be used at the time. Also causes your pet to attack your target.

    Re: *Mages Macros*

    #showtooltip Invisibility
    /cancelaura Invisibility
    /cast Invisibility
    Allows you to remove invis when your threat is reduced to 0% without rightclicking your buff bar.
    #showtooltip Iceblock
    /stopcasting
    /cancelaura Iceblock
    /cast Iceblock
    This macro is better than the one that the OP wrote, it allows you to tick it off without waiting for GCD.

    Re: *Mages Macros*

    Replace all the /y with /s, tbh. It's very irritable when people spam /yell (imho).
    Most of my macros are left-click/right-click macros, but I'll post them nonetheless.

    Left-click is use Mana Gem, right-click is conjure/refresh Mana Gem.
    #showtooltip Mana Sapphire
    /cast [button:2] Conjure Mana Gem
    /use [button:1] Mana Sapphire
    Left-click is eat, right-click is conjure Mana Strudel.
    #showtooltip Conjured Mana Strudel
    /cast [button:2] Conjure Refreshment
    /use [button:1] Conjured Mana Strudel
    Left-click is Teleport, right-click is Portal.
    #showtooltip
    /cast [button:2] Portal: Dalaran; Teleport: Dalaran
    Left-click is Molten Armor, right-click is Ice Armor, middle-click is Mage Armor.
    #showtooltip Molten Armor
    /cast [button:2] Ice Armor; [button:3] Mage Armor; Molten Armor;
    Standard use-trinket-and-all-cooldowns macro for Frostfire. Right-click activates -only- the trinket, it still does the /s though.
    #showtooltip 13
    /use [button:1] 13
    /cast [button:1] Combustion
    /cast [button:1] Icy Veins
    /cast [button:1] Mirror Image
    /use [button:2] 13
    /s Screw the rules, I have cooldowns!
    Frostfire Bolt with removing Tricks of the Trade and Misdirection, as well as a button to remove Invisibility... people are after me. =P
    #showtooltip
    /cancelaura Misdirection
    /cancelaura Tricks of the Trade
    /cancelaura Invisibility
    /cast Frostfire Bolt

    /cast [target=mouseover,harm] Living bomb; Living Bomb

    Focus Spellsteal: (click once to target then click to SS)

    #showtooltip Spellsteal

    AoE cast sequence.

    #showtoltip
    /castsequence reset=16 !Flamestrike, !Blizzard
    /cast [modifier:shift] Blizzard

    PvP "hands free" A-Barrage macro. - Combines all your basic cooldowns into your most spammed PvP spell without all the fuss. Only have one trinket listed because /use 13 is my movement/escape/pvp trinket.

    /script UIErrorsFrame:Hide();
    /console Sound_EnableSFX 0
    /use 14
    /cast Icy Veins

    /script UIErrorsFrame:Clear();
    /script UIErrorsFrame:Show();

    PvP "hands free" A-Blast macro. - Similar to above, but with PoM attatched. These macros are intended for folks who just want to spam, not care about dps.

    #showtooltip Arcane Blast
    /script UIErrorsFrame:Hide();
    /console Sound_EnableSFX 0
    /cast Presence of Mind
    /cast Arcane Blast
    /console Sound_EnableSFX 1
    /script UIErrorsFrame:Clear();

    /use [button:1] Conjured Mana Strudel

    Counterspell w/ focus mod.

    #showtooltip
    /stopcasting
    /cast [modifier:alt][target=focus] Counterspell
    /cast [nomodifier] Counterspell

    1 button port. Left click teleport, right click portal. - its possible to add more modifiers/poerts, but imo it's eaiser to just use PortalBox addon.

    #showtooltip
    /cast [target=mouseover, help] [target=player] Remove Curse

    Re: *Mages Macros*

    jaraxxus macro (old, but probably useful in the future) just put whatever mob as your focus target

    #showtooltip Spellsteal
    /cast [target=focus] Spellsteal

    Invisibility for the purpose of dumping threat click the macro ONCE, after invisible click macro again

    #showtooltip Invisibility
    /cancelaura Invisibility
    /cast Invisibility

    mana gem left click to use a charge, right click to conjure

    #showtooltip
    /use [btn:1] item:33312
    /stopmacro [btn:1]
    /cast Conjure Mana Gem

    maximize your view

    /console SET cameraDistanceMaxFactor 4.0

    Arcane Mage - Arcane Blast just use this macro inplace of your AB spell. The "nochanneling" will ensure you don't cast AB when you're casting Arcane Missiles. This has been EXTREMELY useful because WoW gets somewhat unplayable during bloodlust/heroism and IV and the macro ensures you can spam AB

    #showtooltip Arcane Blast
    /cast [nochanneling] Presence of Mind
    /cast [nochanneling] Arcane Blast
    /run UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

    Re: *Mages Macros*

    This is a PVE polymorph macro that I've grown to love over the years.
    You slap it on a button and bind that button to a key and from there its simple. Press the key and you sheep and focusmark your target. If you press the key again during combat, you will resheep without loosing your target. Once out of combat, press it once to clear the focus frame. If you wanna sheep a different target in combat you will have to press ctrl-button in order to reset your focus to your new target.

    Sidenote, and here's the gold in this. For me personally, what's helped me be 100% on the sheeps during trashclearing etc over the years has been the following. Make a visible UI frame for your focus and enable a picture of the actual character above the frame. If you do this correct you will see your target in the picture actually change into a sheep and you can safely turn around to dps the other targets. While you dps them, with your back to your sheep, you will be able to see the little sheep in the picture and unless it changes back to a human character or the sheep time is up, you can safely keep dps'ing. Also, with the way the macro works and with wow allowing sheeping through your back, you never have to turn around or change targets to resheep your focus target.

    #showtooltip Polymorph
    /clearfocus [modifier:ctrl]
    /focus [target=focus,noexists]; [target=focus,dead]
    /clearfocus [target=focus,help]
    /cast [target=focus,exists,harm] Polymorph; Polymorph

    In combat, this means that I can safely dps the correct targets while keeping an eye on the little moving sheep picture and easily resheep with one buttonpress without changing targets. If anyone attacks my sheep, I will instantly see my sheep change into a human, and a small "target of focus" bar will show me the name of whoever actually broke the sheep. If its a tank, I dont mind, if its someone else I might resheep and see the character pop back into its sheep form. Furthermore, make sure you have curses etc visible on your focus target. This way you will know if its actually possible to resheep your focustarget or if it will break soon anyway.

    Here's a pic of what it looks like in combat. (it was the best I could find atm) As you can see on the picture I have the "Mistress of pain" targeted while Jaraxxus is focusmarked. Obviously im not gonna try and sheep him, but with castbars on your focustarget's bar, you'll be able to see when he casts certain spells. I actually use my "polymorph" button to focus mark Jarraxxus, just move and "polymorph" him and voila, he's focus marked.

    I hope this wasnt to confusing, its somewhat complicated to explain the thing in detail but I can assure you, this works wonders.

    Re: *Mages Macros*

    A couple I find useful to limit bar space.

    Food:

    /use [button:1] Conjured Mana Strudel
    /cast [button:2,nomodifier] Conjure Refreshment(Rank 2);[button:2,modifier:shift]Conjure Mana Gem(Rank 6)
    /cast [button:3] Ritual of Refreshment(Rank 2)

    Left Click (B1) = Eat
    Right Click (B2) = Conjure Strudle
    Shift + Right Click = Mana Gem
    Scroll Click (B3) = Table

    I use the same macro for my armors.

    /use [button:1] Molten Armor
    /cast [button:2,nomodifier] Ice Armor(Rank 6);[button:2,modifier:shift]Ice Armor(Rank 6))
    /cast [button:3] Mage Armor(Rank 6)

    This is a basic universal macro that can be edited many ways to accommodate different spells and buffs if you like to free up bar space.

    1st of all, its not a real keybinding if the macro includs [Button:X]. Then its just clicking, but with different functions for different mouse clicks.

    2nd(answer to your question): To tidy your ui and shave away a lot of useless buttons.

    Is there a way to add some sort of error script to this so that when you log in you don't get the red "?" icon?
