Enh: Keybinding Help

Hi,

I have always used my 1 to = and F1 to F12 for my keybindings, and this has worked for all my characters so far.

For my shaman i also use Z for Lightning bolt and X for Chain Lightning since they are easy to hit by my thumb.

When FS was added back to the rotation i was beginning to run out of keys i could reach and now fire nova plus fire elemental i have hit a wall. I just don't have enough fingers / keys

My main abilities used regularly are stored on 1 to 4 plus f1 to f3 i think, since they are easy to reach

I am interested to know how you guys set it up, because right now i can't keep up with the rotation. Just too many bleeding buttons to hit.

Ye =) I had to unbind the herbalism heal today for the new nova spell =) But then again I guess that HoT isn't really needed in raiding, I guess it was just left there since levling up (kinda used it under XT's tantrum aswell).

My current binds are (I'm at work now so I can't remember them all):

2 Earth Shock
3 Lava Lash + attack macro
4 Lightning Bolt
5 Chain Lightning
6 not sure think I have Chain Heal here, might try out Nova here to see how it feels

I've been clicking searing and fire elemental previously, I might have to bind the elemental now in 3.3.

If you're running out of space, you could bind or macro using modifiers. All shocks share a cd, so it makes sense to keep them on one button.

I'm using [shift] + buttons near WASD. I've put some of those cd skill behind [shift]. It isn't hard to press and it doesn't have to be pressed all the time. Some abilities are even behind [ctrl] key.

I use my mouse buttons for most of my main binds. Some people find this horrible, others love it. Though you do need a mouse with at least 2 buttons.

Mouse button 4 = SS
Wheel up = ES
Wheel down = LL
Mouse button 5 = LS
Shift + Mouse button 4 = LB
Shift + Mouse button 5 = FN
Shift + Wheel up = MT
Shift + Wheel down = Windsheer
1 = Purge
2 = Wolves + trinket
3 = CL
4 = Sham rage
5 = Haste pot
6 = Heroism
7 = Fire Ele
8 = Earth Ele
E = Flame shock (relax i strafe with my mouse)
Shift + E = Abolish poison or whatever it's called now
Q = Wolves dash
T = HS
Shift + T = Frost pot
R = Ghost wolf
Shift + R = Sprint pot
F = Hex ( F for frog gettit!)
Ins = Flying mount
Delete = Land mount
Home = Astral recall
` = Recall totems

Then i have a bunch of useful totems bound to the F keys (or G keys if you have a g15 keyboard) and also my call of elements/spirits etc.

Good luck finding some comfortable binds. =]

Well all I can really do is share what I've got.
I try to set my keys so that my fingers stay on or near WASD

1 = LB
2 = FS
3 = ES
4 = SS
5 = CL
q = LL
e = MT
z = set totems
x = SR
c = purge
v = GotN
f = SW
g = Hero
t = TT
shift + T = CT
mouse side top = shear
mouse side bottom = FN
Shift + mouse side top = FE
shift + mouse side bottom = speed pot

I also find that ALT+1, ALT+2, ALT+3, and ALT+4 are very easy buttons to press.

Also I love how many people have.

I might try to merge flame shock with earth shock using the alt option, which will save me atleast a button.

IMO R is taking up way too valuable of space to be left with the reply function.

I've got 789 bound, but to spells used so rarely I usually click them. I think I rebound assist to V, but I don't remember anymore, I usually target of target click 2x times to assist.
