Just because Gunship is easy does not mean you get to dismiss it as a qualifier. That makes about as much sense as me dismissing you out of hand because you're old/experienced enough to remember Felhunter Sacrifice. It just doesn't make for a good discussion.

Also, respeccing for trash is kind of the point of this whole mess. Why should you have to do that in the first place?

Even in gunship I think it's better to do single target as a destro lock than to ROF, as the adds come out one by one and an unlucky rof crit can get you killed.

If your affliction you will get alot more dmg just tab dotting now-adays. Corruption crits higher than Seed of corruption does. It also does not need to be applied as often, and can be applied more quickly to more targets.

That aside, this game is not all about MAX THIS OR THAT. It is a game, and blizzard wants you to have fun. If you enjoy being destro and throwing fire spells back and forth it seems weird to be using a shadow spell that gets no buff from any of your talents.

No, you won't. Not even remotely close. With even a light amount of haste, say around 500, Seed will be hitting every 1.7 seconds. With moderate SP, say 3k, you'll be hitting for around 4.5k average per target. With only 4 targets you're already exceeding 10k DPS. If you've been in ICC you'd know the trash before Marrowgar and Deathwhisper both contain pulls of 6+. That's now up over 15k DPS. If you're lucky enough to have an Unholy DK (which you probably do) you'll be doing even more.

Corruption only hits harder than Seed on a fully debuffed target. If you don't have Haunt + 2x SE then Seed will hit substantially harder and will be hitting more often. Afflic now sees a DPS gain by AOEing on as few as 3 targets and by 4+ targets there's no point in doing single target damage unless there's a specific need to kill one target asap.

Multi-dotting is for a small number of mobs that will be up for a large amount of time. ICC trash is mostly AOE spam.

Seed is now the best AoE in the game on 5+ targets. It could use a slight nerf.

Rain of Fire has always needed a slight boost. Fire and Brimstone should affect it.
