E-Mail Giving 1 Weeks Free Game Time?

    Hi,
I apologise if something like this has been posted before, but the other day i got an email from Blizz (atleast i think) saying if i click the link in the email id get an extra weeks free play celebrating wows 5th anneversary, obviously i didnt wanna click it because it might be a keylogger, so i was wondering if anyone else got the same email. I mean, it looked legit an everything, oh an also i quit a few months ago, an it says its "inviting" me back

    thanks,
    Harlius

Scam. Plain and simple everything like this is a scam. I really dont understand how people go for this.

    ignore it since:
    A. 5th anniversary was nearly a month ago.
    B. you even said that you got an email from "blizz" the other day.
    C. something like that would've been announced and mmo-champ would've had some news about said extra weeks gaming time

Re: E-Mail Giving 1 Weeks Free Game Time?

People actually have been getting a free week of gametime. I've seen people online who haven't been on in months who said "hey, I got a free 7 days from WoW, awesome! How are you guys!??" and things like that.

Just check what comes before the ".com"

If it's blizzard.com, worldofwarcraft.com, or even battle.net, you can trust it.

    Its legit. http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...75979246&sid=1

    Chill with the scam accusations.

Edit: and your right, blizzard doesn't give anything out for free, its a cheap promotion for them that might get potential costumers hooked again. Thats not a bad thing tho.

Also says in small text at the bottom

Re: E-Mail Giving 1 Weeks Free Game Time?

I got bonus one week on both my accounts from Blizz. My main account has it already used, my second account has it pending atm. My mate just used his week and another mate has been doin heroics on his toon for a week.

Best way to check, actually log on blizzards website, go to billing and check it. There should be "7 Days Time pending" or something in the billing section, activate it for your free week.

ok ok sheesh! jump down our throats why dont you, only reason i said to "ignore it" (not yelling scam scam lolz!) was that the wow 5th anniversary was a month ago which brought me to suspicion that it might not be all it seems to be. imo they should've sent the email during the week OF the 5th anniversary not a month later >:P
