it is and has been common knowledge that scientific units are not exact (if they are derived from natural events) as they were introduced when the accuracy of scientific measurements was still relatively unprecise.

as for the relation between the number "pi" and the 360 degrees full-circle:
360 degrees=2 Pi (radian) and radian is also a completely arbitrary unit for measuring angles.

you can pick any number of "degrees" to be in a circle - the results of mathematic calculations wil NOT change!
(to disprove this just prove that - in the same set - 1 does not equal 1 (1 != 1))

i actually believe some people believe you.... which is sad.
the use of degrees is not a derived increment. for instance you could call a "perkey" an angle measurement in which there are 51235071 in a circle. its all relative to how you first define the increment of measure. and in this case since a degree is 1/360th of a circle its impossible to have 360.2 degrees in a full circle.

All is subject to change, I'm not sure, I wasn't a part of this decision, I just read about it, but I do for 100% sure know that it wasn't a reading error on my part because I and 10 other people in the room had an hour discussion about it. It is a bit weird to me, too, but apparently there is some truth in it. Some of the other guys said some things that made alot of sense with it but I'm tired so I don't remember what it was, I wish I did. But no, the earths rotation was more of a side note in the article, like a few paragraphs and it was a few pages long, the 360.2º article was. I'm pretty sure not all 11 of us had the same mistake, especially one being an english professor at a University.

The thing is, the Earth is moving through space in orbit around the Sun along an elliptical path. Consequently, the Earth has to spin a little bit farther than one rotation in order for the same longitude to be oriented directly at the Sun day to day. The time required for that to happen makes up the difference on the clock.

The point being, for those that just thought "24 hours" at first, is that it's a trick question. One day isn't quite the same thing as one full rotation of the Earth. If our clocks were perfectly synchronized with the Earth's actual rotation time, then daylight would continually slip along the hours. Six months from the Sun being highest at noon, it would be highest at midnight.
