2h frost is inferior to dw frost, dw frost provides special attack damage close to the special attack damage of 2h, but it provides more white damage, additional runeforge and it surpasses 2h in the end.
2h frost died together with the old frost strike, but hell it was fun while it lasted)

Re: some say 2h frost isnt viable anymore. What do you think.

Being a Frost player since level 55, I can give you some backstory as to why 2H frost isn't viable anymore. In the beginning, the Frost tree's defining talent was Frost Strike. It hit hard, it could be glyphed to 32 RP, it ignored armor and couldn't be dodged or parried. Secondly, the T7 set bonus made the second-most used ability Obliterate generate enough RP to fit in another Frost Strike into the DPS rotation. These things kept Frost on par with Blood and Unholy at the time.

Eventually, the T7 set bonus was nerfed, and Frost fell behind. However, Ulduar came around and with it a Sigil that increased Frost Strike's base damage by a stupid amount, which with all damage multipliers a DK has was single-handedly responsible for something like 600 DPS for a Frost DK. With the sigil equipped, Frost was once again competetive.

However, the nature of Frost Strike caused a lot of trouble in PvP, so they nerfed the sigil, and Frost Strike itself to lower the damage throughput. This pretty much left 2H frost in the gutter to die. To save the Frost tree, Blizzard added Threat of Thassarian, which made strikes hit for roughly the same amount with two onehanders as with a twohander. You kept the strike damage, and gained white (normal melee swings) damage, which was enough to get Frost back up in line with the other two specs.

Long story short, 2H frost is considered unviable because DW frost is straight up better due to having the same disease and strike damage as 2H, but more white damage. That's not to say that 2H frost sucks ass, but you're unneccesarily limiting yourself by going 2H frost.
Don't let other people define your standards for happiness.

There's nothing terribly wrong with your build (preferably you should get epidemic) but seeing as they nerfed FS damage when Threat of Tharraison was added, and the combined damage of the MH/OH strikes have more overall weapon damage then a 2h, frost is solidly much better as DW. You perform the same rotation as you would 2h, all that changes are the swing animations.

Depends what you mean by viable.

You won't wipe as soon as you enter combat just for speccing 2h frost, but you won't be able to match the damage of other players who are playing their classes best spec to something resembling its potential either.

    2H Frost Raiding Build
It's not very likely you'll see a viable two-hand Frost raiding build any time soon. Each death knight tree already offers a good deal of versatility given that there are potential DPS, tanking and PvP avenues in each. They're designed so that players can choose their path based on play style and flavor, not because of role (in the way that a Holy priest who wants to DPS as Holy is out of luck). Trying to also have dual-wield versions from Blood and Unholy builds made the matrix of what we wanted to accomplish a little too large. If there does end up being a viable two-hand Frost build that works, we're not going to go out of our way to break it. That said, we aren't going to go out of our way to promote it either. The Frost tree is currently meant to be a dual-wield tree much in the same way the Fury tree is a dual-wield tree for warriors.

If your a good player, you can make 2hand Frost work & it's still a lot of fun. You will beat similary geared DK's who just can't get it together. But frost is just meant for DW right now to get the best dps outta it. I find frost DPS makes 5 man dungeons go by real quick, the instant power of howling blasts & oblit/FS make mobs go down so quick, that unholy doesn't have a chance to make use of all there dots. With my gear I was consistently avg. 11-12k obliterates & frost strikes, not to mention 10k+ howling blasts in 5 man dungeons. So, you don't get the white damage of DW, or the 15k+ frost strikes of old... but if you want to see big numbers, and back to back massive crits.. 2hand frost will still make you smile.

This is what Blizzard had to say about Frost 2H specs.
