Enh PvP: Spell Pen

Yo.

So I've been scouring forums and haven't been able to find the answer to this question, but perhaps I just looked in the wrong spot. I've been told/have seen that top end Enh shaman run with somewhere around 85 spell pen. My question is, why is the number to aim for 85?

My understanding of Spell Pen is that it works as a counter to Spell Resistance. That being said, Improved MotW is 75. The only other main thing I can think of that gives a higher resistance is like... Pally Aura's. So should I be aiming for 75, or higher?

Lastly, what enchants/gems do you guys usually use to reach this? What gems/enchants are worth giving up to pick up the necessary Spell Pen?

you want to be at around 100, reason is; Mage Armor.

You're probably going to take either 80 or 100 spell pen, because it only comes in chunks of 20. 20 on your cloak and 20 from each gem. You shouldn't have any trouble purging a druid when chasing him, mages, locks, good hunters and other enh shamans however might be a bigger problem.
