Ok so I'm going to get into a run you're in, and need every piece of spell power gear you need (if you're a caster) or every piece of gear you're class can use but mine can not because "I wanted vendor gold and you didn't communicate that I shouldn't need upgrades you need". You'll reply "I WONT MIND CAUSE THATS HOW THINGS R" but you'll be lying.Originally Posted by cubby
You're so stupid it's actually upsetting. There's something called common courtesy, it's been around since vanilla. People join a run as a tank, so the mage doesn't need a def rating / stam ring. Similarly they don't need the rogues dps dagger. People who did this in vanilla were called NINJAS. Hence the term.. Taking gear that is better suited for a roll that you're not without asking if it was alright first.
Obviously the tank though it was wrong to do what he did, every time I see someone need something they shouldn't and win they leave the instance. Not because they thought it was done.. But because they knew what they did was WRONG. You can make any half assed argument you want denying this but in the end you're wrong.
Edit: if any of you pulled this kind of shit in a professional environment you'd find yourselves fired, if you pulled it in a less professional environment but still a situation with people above the age of 13 (I know all the people here bitching they should roll on roles they didn't sign up for) you will either be killed or beaten. So have fun in the next 20 years of your lives, I hope you make the mistake to enter a casino with your values, leave a table after winning three hands, and then end up floating upside down by morning.
As a tank myself, first state that you will be doing this. If someone is not happy he can leave. If more than 2 people are unhappy i will leave. I am dps MS so I am only benefiting you with a few extra badges when i do tank. Might sound assholeish but I do politely ask and leave if it isn't taken well. Also, I see who else might need it. E.g. A ring with agi on it is pretty much bad for any plate dps so being a dk i roll for the ring if the other melee dps are plate because it isnt a massive upgrade for whoever is rolling on it.Originally Posted by SKullkrusher

Kids today don't know that man. They'll do as they like and fuck making the world a more pleasant place, then piss and moan when someone does the same to them.Originally Posted by Xenryusho

Set some ground rules before the instance while everyone is getting there. Makes the whole loot process so much easier.

Grow up kid. There's a difference between rolling need on an upgrade you actually need and will use vs. being a total douche bag because you feel someone wronged you in the past.
How many times have you been in H HoR? If your tank or healer isn't on his/her toes, there's going to be wipes. Period. My main spec is DPS, but my OT is tanking. Too many times have I been unable to finish H HoR because of the tank. If I want to finish, then I'm forced to tank. It's the only way I'll know I'll see the loot chest at the end of the run.
We're talking about a ring, not a super rare mount, but a simple ring.
It will drop again.
