I think before he dies, his spirit will be shown as paladin.

all I'm hoping for is if the mount will drop 100% from Arthas heroic mode, then I'll be happy.

Surprised no one stated this instead of going in on rabid dog analogies, but as Uther stated; the "real" Arthas is a dwindling presence in the back of the Lich King's head. Not strong enough to take over, but it's what's keeping him from unleashing full force and destroying Azeroth.

So a more correct analogy would be "1,000,000 rabid dogs or 1,000,000 trained but restrained killing dogs". Without an LK, there's no one to prevent them from running rampage.

New Lichking will do something awfull when his spirit will be converted as a lich kings spirit.

    Me no rikey!

On a more serious note - Why most bolvar take the Lich Kings place? It just feels wrong to have a guy covered in fire to take up the spot of a Villain who's main theme is ice.. ( Firecrown Citadel? )

And turning the Scourge to something 'not so evil'? Yeah right, we all dream of having a huge abomintaion serve us tea and biscuits!

The way I see it is with Arthas leading it is "controlled chaos" but with out his rule... well it would be like 28 Days Later. All the undead would go totally chaotic. All the undeads we run into would no longer patrol. They'd just run about killing everything.

I've been calling Bolvar for Lich King the moment the PTR started coming out, and my opinion is only supported with boub's lore spoiling :P

Also, I'll be very happy to see arthas die and no more "bUT hE CAN be REDempTionedz?" threads.

I was really hoping for a Jaina/Sylvanas Lich Queen combo to replace Ner'zhul and Arthas. Sylvanas does deserve the last shot on Arthas.

Bolvar then could have come back as undead and ruled over the Undercity.

    /my 2 cents

Am I the only one that sees this small issue with Bolvar becoming the new Lich King?

As much as Bolvar is a fairly good guy and level headed, he would still be more aligned with the Alliance than with the Horde, if Horde threatened the alliance and his home enough, then he would surely have to defend it... and then the alliance have control of the entire scourge!!!

I'm alliance so dont mind too much, but it would make more sense for it to be someone neutral, such as Tirion or Darion

How can be a rioting mass of people be more dangerous than a highly liberal demonstration?
    1+1....
By the way, it's never been said, that Bolvar will start war with anyone, even though it's likely he will support horde/alliance in Cataclysm against Deathwing.

i know what wowwiki is referring to.
but a: i dont think arthas is trying to break his will to make him become new lich king.
and b: i dont think bolvar is resisting for so long just to meet jaina and uther saying : hey dude, you wanna be new lich king ?
Of course not, it's ridiculous how you can imagine that Oo Arthas tries to break Bolvar to get another strong general for the scourge. Bolvar will very likely offer himself to be the new LK, what should he do else being a lava man?

Maybe there's still gonna be the spirit of the old Lich King somewhere in the helm or whatever, so he'll have some problems doing anything other than just keeping a clear head. That'd pretty much explain it.

Nobody ever heared of him before he was Wrynn's Placeholder in Stormwind and now he's going to be one of the most powerful characters... Just not fitting. But that's just my opinion (and why do the "noble" people with a "strong heart" have to be Alliance and was Saurfang Jr. so easily broken..?)
