Would appreciate a lil' bit of help for me mage here.

    Afternoon all!

I'm a mage on some quaint little server, and would appreciate if you nice people could give me some tips on magery. You see, after my guild's last few raids, the tanks and healers have been complaining a bit about the DPS being to low and, well, it's best to keep the people that keep you alive happy. I'm usually at about 3, 3.5k dps, and I know this can be better.

My usual spell-rotation on bosses goes somewhat like:
    • Start the fight off with Combustion, Mirror Image, Living Bomb, and Scorch.
    • Spam Fireball.
    • Cast Pyroblast whenever I get a Hot Streak.
    • Any time Living Bomb and Scorch (are about to) run out, I cast them again.
    • Whenever Combustion and Mirror Image are available again, I pop 'em out too.

Can't quite see what would be wrong with the rotation, and I think it's mostly just my stats and (some of) my gear. Perhaps I should get me some more hit instead of crit, but I'll leave that to you experts.

    Fancy Armory link!

Your hit is too low for fire (For horde, cap is 14% as you'll get none from talents). I'd suggest you to try arcane, it's better anyway. About gemming, replace those pure hit/crit gems with sp/haste and get hit from gear (also, spell pen at PvE gear..?).

As arcane, you can replace your trinkets with http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47213 and http://www.wowhead.com/?item=48724 of which both are very good ones (macro SP use with other CDs). You could aswell get http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47604 instead of that awfull t9 robe and replace t8 hat with t9. With those, you would be quite close to hit cap as arcane (8%).

Rawr is also useful tool to see what items would be upgrades and what you should gem.
