NES vs MRS

so i was thinking of taking the leap to go Armpen marks, i have 351 armor pen atm, and if i switch to gems ill have roughly 551 armorpen, just shy of what the sticky'd guide says i should have when using MRS http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45931#comments

seeing how there is an alternative to the ulduar HM loot, http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50198 would it be worth it to farm the trinket as use it as my armpen trinket to hit the cap? or since it is "chance on crit" it would end up being a DPS loss after all

I tried using search but i ended up getting guild recruitment posts (yeah i went wtf too)

and i tried looking through the guide at the top and no luck either

get the runestone if you can, its better than needle-encrusted scorpion, but if you can't get the runestone, get the needle-encrusted scorpion

you will be sitting at what, 48% crit or something as MM? Chance on crit only sucks if you dont have a lot. Raid buffed I'm around 60% crit, that trinket would proc every time it was off the internal cd within a couple shots. Not a loss.

NES only procs from our auto shot crits and its 10% chance so MRS will have a much higher uptime. dont reccomend NES for any hunters ever over alot of the other trinkets out today.

I'm really curious as to where you gathered this information. As far as I know, NES will proc on any ranged critical strike as it's description suggests. This is not meant as an attempt to flame you in any way, I was just wondering whether there'd be any sources backing this up.
This trinket is inferior to Mjolnir Runestone though, but is much easier to acquire for those that don't have a guild that runs Ulduar hardmodes every so often. If this is the case for the OP, I suggest you go for this one until you get your hands on another valuable trinket. It is one of the better non-25 trinkets currently available to us

You dont have NEAR enough arp to go arp gemming. By the time you have enough ArP to start gemming, you wont want a arp proc trinket at all. But MRS is better then NES, though not by much. If you doubled your ArP, you still wouldnt have enough. Wait for 800 arp from gearing until you start ArP gemming.

That's not a correct abbreviation, but I did have that console in the back of my head.. Eventhough it isn't exactly obscure.
