Moonkin Help - 4pc t9... what to socket?

Before you guys offer any advice on gear, please be aware that I will only begin raiding this Saturday and everything I get at the moment is from badge gear.

Right now I'm considering stacking SP... don't know about haste considering I have 528 atm and would be at 540 haste once I get 4pct9.

(And if you noticed the trinket... yes... lost roll twice (in heroic PoS - that lovely trinket) to a prot paladin and a retadin that were believed they were in the right to roll OS)

only get enough purified dreadstones to meet your meta gem requirements

if you have a yellow socket where the bonus is 4 SP or greater it is a net DPS increase to use SP/crit gems compared to straight SP according to the stat weights given by EJ. if you are over 400 haste rating then crit becomes more beneficial of a stat to you. Haste is still useful, however you will start clipping your GCDs after wrath crits.

So dump that haste gem in your hat, and shoulders in favor of SP/crit gems.

Put SP/spi gems in your belt and legs.

Work on getting your 4 piece T9 bonus.

Finish your crafting professions if you are serious about raiding. The JC gems are a pretty substantial benefit. You might also consider dropping mining for something else as well. Enchanting/JC pair together well in my experience. But pretty much any of the crafting professions will have an equivalent buff associated with them.

Take the 3 points in intensity and put them into improved insect swarm. take 2 points out of moonglow and put them into improved moonfire. If you do a lot of AoE in your raids then gale winds can stick around. If not then you can probably move those points somewhere else.

Just to note: You are far, far, FAR away from the soft crit cap (which is at 42% crit fully raidbuffed (inc. idol)), so you have a lot of nice crit to get. As Cerelli said above, if a yellow socket has +5 SP or more (he said 4, but i do believe its 5 - then again, there are no +4 socket bonuses, i believe), use a SP/crit gem. You will notice a faster eclipse proc, more mana regen and - ofcourse - more damage

You seem to have done your research yourself (welcome, friend *hug*), so you should probably focus on getting rid of that extra 100 haste and your hit, so you are not so far over the caps
