It isn't ISL specs that don't have a place anymore, it's the Suppression specs. ISL, and Destro in general still has a strong place in 10 mans. If it's for 25s and you must go Destro, then you should be 18/53. In 10s you have more options.

Why *must* you be 18/53? The 50 DPS increase in non-target swap fights?Originally Posted by harky
I use ISL due to my bleeding edge 10 man needing replenishment. There is really no reason to drop that to bring up an offspec of 18/53 when you can make an offspec of affliction for trash / later wings. The 50 DPS difference is negligible as it can be canceled out by latency or missing 2-3s of optimization while actually doing the boss encounter.
Were getting down to arguing differences so small that they can easily be negated - simply by a cat jumping on your desk (which you don't have to remove) or taking a quick sip during a boss fight.
This space for rent.
This. You have to consider any sim result with a +/- variance (which is actually given on simcraft if you check the outputs) due to RNG. Look at simcraft's output, they list Error and Range for each spec. Your error range is over 10 times larger than the theoretical dps gain under perfect playing conditions with 10,000 itterations for the strong imp spec. That mean's over 10,000 simulated battles it came out with a slightly higher average.Originally Posted by Modez
You misread what was said. What I said was: If it's for 25s and you must go Destro, then you should be 18/53. In this case must means 'are compelled to.' You should be 18/53 for 25s if you're going Destro.Originally Posted by Modez
