where is my healer off-hand in ICC 10?

hi,

iam just wondering,

no off-hand for healers in icc 10 man regular or heroic so far, i know the lich king loot is not avaible but even so, just one in 12 bosses, and in the last one?

i know we saw some off-hands in 25 man regular and heroic, but for me that is up for 10 man almost, this is just bad, coz i cant stay with midnightsun without a off-hand and have only sulfang staff to looking for.

what did you guys think?

My main is a Holy Priest and I find the lack of good healing offhands to be annoying as well. I happened to luck out on getting the offhand from Maexna 25-man early 2009 and as of today I am still using it. I've been exclusively raiding 10-man content since then and getting somewhat desparate to finally upgrade it. It's iLevel 213, while the rest of the gear is floating in the 232-264 range.

Simple solution, find a good stave

every raid instance at any level (10/25 normal/heroic) does not need an item to fill every goddam slot for every spec in the game. use your toc offhand, or get the one from heroic hor if you're really desperate. if not, get a staff, which is probably what's intended if there's no good offhand for you in the first place.

As far as the off-hand, it doesn't bother me. There's a nice one from H HOR and the one from Onyxia isn't bad either. Whoever said they were still using a Naxx-25 item should look into those.

Lol, Draudin; the first item you linked is from Sindragosa, normal 25-man. It's not ingame yet.

As for using a Stave instead of a main-hand / off-hand combo: by now it may be worth it, because there's no real valid off-hand above 213. Generally speaking, though, a main-hand / off-hand combo of equal iLevel will blow away any Staff of similar iLevel, if you add all the stats and boni on those items.

And Lizzy, get a grip, ok? We're talking about a Naxx-25 offhand and since then we've seen Ulduar, ToC and now ICC. That's 3 next-level raids, without proper healing offhand.

There's a 232 crit/haste OH from the new five mans that works fine for holy/resto etc etc

If you don't do 25, you're stuck with a 232 though.

just because your guild only raids 10 mans doesn't mean you shouldn't do last tier's 25 man raid for clear upgrades.

Main reason my guild doesn't do 25-mans is because we lack the people to do so. We're a casual guild who likes to raid several nights a week and we have no active recruitment policy. It runs on the "friend of a friend" principle to get new members.

But thanks for the headsup on the HoR offhand, that looks fairly decent. Compared with the Matriarch's Spawn, it loses 7 INT and 43 SPI though, for a gain of 18 Haste, some STA, a bit of Spellpower and a load of Crit. I can't really care much for Crit though, if it means losing so much INT and SPI.

I used http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45314 from Ignis for the longest time... Agree it was annoying not to be able to get a decent upgrade, but I was consoled by the fact that Igniter Rod is one of the best looking items I've ever owned.

Just got back from a month's holiday, asked a bunch of guildies if they'd run me through the new ICC 5 mans, and got this on my first run: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50309 which is awesome as it looks BIS for non 25 man healers. I'm in the same position as you- only do 10 mans. Your best bet is to go for that. I'm sticking to this combo until all my guild casters have the Maghar staff (I won the dagger this week so they'll kill me if I roll on the staff), then I'll switch to that.
