Bone Shield question

I notice in the armory most of you have Bone shield in you talents. But in the rotations it seems you do IT PS BS BS SS RP Dump SS SS BS BS RP Dump. So i wonder when do you use bone shield? If you use it you would waste a Scourge Strike and it only lasts for 3 hits which isn't even a rotation. Bone shield used to rock at 4 bones and didn't lose a bone on a hit but this new 1 seems crazy to me.

Bone shield loses charges on damage taken not done, and most aoes and dots don't affect it at all.

Without reaping you just blood tap when you don't have unholy runes available to replace a blood strike with bone shield, with reaping you use your death runes to bone shield and then blood tap so you don't lose a scourge strike.

Personally, I've macro'd it to Blood Tap. Works fine.
