Windows 7 and WoW isn't working, any solutions?

Seeing as this is kinda the same topic and OP found a solution, I just want to ask if what have been said here applies to an external hard drive in such a way that if I copied WoW from that to a new machine with Win7 64, would that cause me problems seeing as what I'm using until I get my new comp is Win XP pro 32?

Upgraded from Win XP Pro 32 to Win7 Home 64 a few weeks back and haven´t got any issues with Wow since then.

I´ve had wow installed on D: the whole time though.
