Glyph of Steady Shot Vs Glyph of Serpent Sting (SV)

Was wondering if anyone had done any extensive testing on replacing serpent sting w/ steady shot at a high end gear level.
I tried plugging it into femaledwarf but nothing changed : / I currently use Explosive shot and Kill shot glyphs along with steady shot, was wondering if explosive shot would be better to trade out since im sitting at over 73% crit raid buffed w/o any procs up.

I don't understand the logic.

The glyph makes you 4% more likely to crit with explosive shot, regardless of how much crit you have (obviously excluding 96% and upwards).

Thinking that your crit % makes a difference to the glyph is wrong, its similar to saying "i've tossed a coin 10 times, and i've got 10 heads, i'm more likely to get a tail on the next toss".

This is really going to based on your current gear and spec. Also take into account the fight mechanics.

Let's plug them into the spreadsheet and see how the numbers play out.

If you are looking to maximize your dps, you could even tweak your spec (and your pet spec) some.

I played with your profile in the spreadsheet for a while and this is what I have found.

- Your dps on the spreadsheet with your current spec using Serpent Sting, Steady Shot, Kill Shot is 10,021.90. This is also with a corrected pet spec.

This spec is a little more selfish since it doesn't bring Replenishment but your personal dps will be higher. You can usually depend on other classes bringing replenishment so it isn't needed for you to pick up. Typically a ret pally will be around.

i think you should take out killshot. it is only worth while for 20% of the fight, and it is usable once every 8 seconds. with my gear it did 16000 damage crits. it seems like alot but with a better glyph it seems that damage could have been made up earlier in the fight

This is going to vary a lot on the fight.
- If there are a lot of adds (Putricide) are they spread out enough for unglyphed Kill Shot to always be available when needed?
- How long is the boss in the <20% range and how mobile are you during that 20%?

- Glyphs are cheap to make and can be swapped anywhere as long as you are out of combat. You could swap them based on the fight if you needed/wanted to.

Afaik the best glyphs for SV with high end gear are serpent/steady/kill, steady replaces explosive because of higher amounts of arp in high end gear.

Depends on spec and gear. For him, if he respecs like posted above, hawk is better than serpent.
