    SFK

I dont know about anybody else but SFK was always my favorite instance

But can anybody shed some light on this

Is SFK going to be same just with stronger Npcs or is there going to be halls, wings, stairs, etc. added?

    Re: SFK

It's almost completely linear and not toooo long right now, so I don't see them making extensive changes to the overall design of the instance. I do expect that the number of bosses will be trimmed, perhaps making some of the bosses into fancy trash like that proto-drake rider in UK, and they'll definitely have new mechanics and abilities.

    Re: SFK

Yup more then likly some bosses will be changed as well as the NPC in the dungeon that xforms into a worgen.

Id see the cook, and the Bat worgen being some of the bosses to go but im also sure theyll tweak some of the rooms to make it "heroic" ness since low lvl instances are just rooms filld with mobs you just take down one by one with a boss that you could easily miss in the trash, and ... bosses that dont even always drop a blue ><

I hope they keep the fel steeds in the stables and have em drop a new bag lol be nice.

I AM the world's first Shadow Mage.

Heroic will be the same layout and bosses/mobs as regular, maybe with an extra boss in a new room. The dungeon itself will probably have updated graphics, maybe the new Worgen model for the mobs.

Goblin will stuff up the worgen!!!

    Re: SFK

I'm assuming they'll trim the amount of bosses a tiny bit and, possibly trash as well. To be honest, I'd like for it to be exactly how it is now: loads of bosses, loads of trash. Just with some updated graphics and hopefully new Worgen models.

If it stays how it is at 85 - CC ing is a MUST and casters are going to LOATH it.

    Re: SFK

Bottom line, I'm hoping that old world instances are something that get revamped as well, including SFK.

Arugal is dead. We killed him in Vanilla, Lich King brought his shade back to start shit in Grizzly Hills and we killed that as well. What's left? It doesn't make sense to me to just leave certain instances like SFK, Deadmines, or Wailing Caverns exactly as they are when the lore of the lands around them is changing.

But that's exactly what the thing is with Heroics. It makes no sense killing Prince Keleseth in Utgarde Keep at level 71, going to ICC and killing him with 24 others and then getting to kill him again in your random Heroic. Heroics are not part of 'lore' in that sense.

    Re: SFK

Assuming that SFK and Deadmines will be trimmed down to 4-5 bosses, I think these are the most likely choices based on dungeon flow, architecture, lore, and popularity:

In SFK, I think that Baron Silverlaine, Odo, Fenrus, and Arugal are the most likely to keep their boss status. Maybe substituting Springvale for Silverlaine or Nandos for Fenrus. Rethilgore's a possibility for a fifth boss if they either heavily redo his room or give him mechanics that make use of the cramped, two-level design.

I think Deadmines is a little more obvious: Sneed, Gilnid, Smite, and VanCleef will stay. Rhahk'zor is a possibility for a fifth boss.

That's true to an extent, but it can safely be assumed that the Heroic version is meant to fill the same spot in the lore as the basic version of the dungeon. The thing is that, with as drastic as the changes to Cataclysm are, the lore of the dungeon should be changed, period to reflect all that. The normal versions and heroic versions ought to give some nod to the fact that Deathwing tore the world a new one.

It's the same concept as with KT and Anub'Arak. The heroics are designed to be done pre-t7 (except for ToC5/ICC5), so when you kill Keleseth in H UK it's treated as the same as though you killed him at level 71. Then when you go to Icecrown Citadel, he's been reraised into undeath (like Anub'Arak and Kel'thuzad... man, the Scourge loves apostrophe names almost as much as trolls...) so you kill him again. At that point every other time you run the heroic is treated as outside the storyline. Think of it like Marvel's "What If...?" line.
This line will not change of my own volition until Knaak stops screwing Warcraft Lore to write more bad fanfics.

    Thanks Amuno!

    Re: SFK

l would HOPE they'd just buff up the mobs to match the new player's levels.
. . . But alas, that is NOT going to happen.

As people previously mentioned, the instance is most probably shortened a lot and with amount of trash cut down.
And sadly, l believe they are getting rid / changing the skills that mobs have. That'd be because requiring to CC that nasty interrupter
or stunning / kicking those Anti-Magic Shell-casting enemies doesn't fit Blizzards new "This is how instances should be" concept.

l just pray they keep the Arugal teleporting and Gift of Arugal + Forsaken Skills (or whatever the name was, lowered your random weapon skill)
because they added nice flavor to the instance.

Damn, now l am feeling like doing SFK again! >
