I agree with Venziir on this, Evile is more like Slayer Jr than anything... just like every thrash bands that form these days...

Yup, they are all Slayer/Kreator/Testament rip-offs.
God forbid that we'd see a Megadeth jr.......

I wasn't going to listen to it, but now I'm curious if the vocalist adds a vowel sound to the end of every word. Damn you.

    You're welcome

Also, had fun at the Fortarock afterparty with two young bands thrashing about. After a day of beer and sun and metal, it was good to get something completely unpretentious and non-technical flailing about.

This is actually a hard question to answer. Depending on how I feel at any given time.

When my blood is filled with piss and vinegar I listen to a random assortment of Speed/Death/Thrash/Black Metal, this would be the hardest group to pick a favorite from... So I will go with Mercyful Fate since they take me back to my teenage years of Skate baords and listening to the Devils music.

When I'm in a nostalgia mood Kiss is king for me, The first Heavy Metal band I listened to when I was 7-9 in the 70s, I had the trading cards, and my father recorded the TV show for me, he was a fan of Meat Loaf and Hard Rock back then. (it was before our family 'found Christ' ) Favorite Kiss song came from the bad Bill and Ted film (irony since I didn't listen to kiss at all in the 80's)
    (1970's) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1yvQV7J47o

In High School I was a huge fan of Ratt, Winger, Stripper (heck I was technically a Christian then), I will always have a place for the 80's spandex wearing heavy metal bands. Single favorite artist of that generation Yngwie Malmsteen
    (1980's) http://youtu.be/07VFcjxXmeA

When I was Skating I would almost exclusively listen to S.T.V.C (Suicidal Tendencies Venice California, my home town well I ended up in the valley for high school but I was a Venice kid.)
    (1980's) http://youtu.be/AlHHmrYUPkc

During the nineties while I was in the Marines, it was all Metallica, Megadeth and Ministry,
Personal favorite song from the Marines.
    (1990's) http://youtu.be/WM8bTdBs-cw

Once I left the Marines I moved to Europe did drugs got married had a hell of time, Mostly I did Gothic, punk, industrial, and similar music so as a dedication to my ex... (yes I was married to an eastern European)
    (1990's) http://youtu.be/-o-6ftmw8CE

During the late nineties I was the classic Vampire Metal type so lots of Metal-Industrial and Gothic-Metal - I have to say riding a Harley Davidson with a Type-o Negative or Fear Factory tape in the Walkman made life good.
    (1990's/2000's) http://youtu.be/0ryA583mO40 and http://youtu.be/MmE_Zek4e1o

After the Early Nineties Crash I started listening to an eclectic range of music every thing from Mortiis to Drowning Pool
    (2000's) http://youtu.be/EM-VTCesxHg and http://youtu.be/VY_I6doz6Qk

Once things turned around and I regained a sense of self. I started to listen mostly to music from Germany and Norway, some was 'Gothic/Industrial' Some was Metal
    (My Humor) http://youtu.be/1d0QND_24DE
(When I want to sit and relax) http://youtu.be/2ie1K6oC2r8
    (when I play D&D) http://youtu.be/fu2bgwcv43o
(when I meme, sorry) http://youtu.be/m0P4rPOaNb4 (<- hey at least its Zeppelin, Nyan)

My personal Favorite... there is none but I would say that this would be a play list while I drive my stupid 4 wheel mechanical conveyance while I save for my next motorcycle.

    ---

Oh forgot I love Anime, and Japanese culture. Sorry almost forgot to include visual kei, (internet +1 to who can spot a born Female in the band)

At the beginning of the year I thought that this would be a great year for metal, especially because of the new Sigh, Lunar Aurora and Christian Mistress, but now I'm less optimistic. I just can't find anything worth listening to. Has anyone discover anything new (good) recently?

The new Abominable Putridity album is cumblastingly delicious and I say that as a person who is not into slam/brutal death usually, dunno if you are.

I am also having loads of fun with the new Veil of Maya album but I'd guess you aren't into that kind of stuff.

Plus everyone's having orgasms of that Ne Obliviscaris album but since it was spammed on this board n times I guess you already know that.

This. As someone who isn't fond of slam at all, this album is surprisingly good.

Also new Om is coming out next month if you're into that, I'm pretty excited personally.
