The new Venom track is somewhat surprisingly good. A very... muscular sound to the track. Kinda, Bolt Thrower-ish. Like Denial of Destiny.
I enjoyed the new Napalm Death too.

That artwork is equivalent to the quality of the music.

Still can't quite get used to a Venom that's this tight.
Though man, I do miss Mantas.
Really in love with this band lately.
I alternate between enjoying the emotion In Flames brings to their music but the cringe-y lyrics and emo stuff is vomit. I sorta felt like some Melodeath gets away with it a bit easier than In Flames because In Flames are too near the surface. The sentiment is too apparently written for 13 year girls that aren't exactly about "Dat bass, no treble".
"I tore the mountain down. I tore it right down." or whatever. Vomit all over the place, In Flames. But I think records like Sense of Purpose, Colony and whatever was that record with the green cover are half okay-ish.
However, I adore Altar of Plagues and have a very high regard for Teethed Glory and Injury in particular. It's kind of a sensual recording. Which is very rare in metal's subgenres without being sexual parody (Steel Panther, Manowar) or overtly masculine (Crue, Priest). A nice one-two punch that year when Deafheaven released Sunbather.
Been listening to a lot of Darkthrone lately. The last record they made was pretty damn good, Underground Resistance.
BUT. I can not stop playing these Bloodshot Dawn records. They are both fantastic. I really love the rattle of BSD.
Shit, I didn't even know these guys were still around. Used to listen to them in like...the late 90s. Apparently, they have a new album out. I suck at keeping up with things like this.
Not bad, but something sounds very different from the last time I heard them. Can't place what.
edit: band broke up in 2004 and reformed in 2009 with a lineup change. That's why they sound so different to me now. Wikipedia ftw.

Ooh, new Leaves' Eyes album in summer 2015. I'm very much looking forward to that one. Only discovered them a couple of years ago, but I've been a big fan since.

I don't think they've released any kind of preview or teaser content, so I'm just going to leave one of my more recent favorites here:

Just listened to the new Blind Guardian record.
It's fucking intense.
A true masterpiece, loved it.
Deffo check it out.
The new Blind Guardian album is indeed good. Almost perfect "metal", so to speak.
The fact that at nearly 50 years of age Hans can still sing like he does on the record with such ease is amazing.
The throne is the high point of the album for me.
A lot of And Then There Was Silence to be found on the album, along with the Holy Grail, that sounds like Seasons in the Abyss (really thrashy for such classic power metal).
My kind of schtic.
I really liked this one from 2015.
avant-garde/prog with some random ethnic and jazz influences that flows extremely well from start to finish, very enjoyable and refreshing to listen to.
