New Obscura was "more of the same". I just find it impressive you can still instantly recognise who they are, when they're still so close to being a tribute band.
Yea it is. Hoping to get it up on Bandcamp over the weekend and put up another song on Youtube. Will let ya know when it's up.
Album is up on Bandcamp. Let me know if there's anything wonky about it or if something seems off.

//edit: Obviously, feedback about the album itself would be great too.

Moar Icelandic Black Metal.
Cool.
Wonder where the rest of the crew is though. It's just you and me for the past week.

SiKth is fucking boss.
Hope they do a euro tour.
Well spank my jimmies and call me Ringo! The new Ice Nine Kills album is fucking amazing!
So what is peoples opinions about Insomnium in here?
Holy shit it's actually good.
Anyway saw Ghost, they were fucking amazing.
Was first in and had the best seat in the house and got a setlist off one of the roadie-bros at the end of the show. Shit was tight.
Also got to meet Anders from Dead Soul after the show and talked guitars with his guitarist for like half an hour.
Awesome night.
Roll on Soilwork in two weeks.
Hey guys, looking for some new Progressive Metal in the same vein as Baroness, Protest the Hero, possibly Animals as Leaders which I discovered today via their guitarist. Not strictly looking for someone that's a carbon copy of those three, but something similar I guess. Like, Mastodon was recommended to me here before and I love them now, same with Indukti. I also discovered Cancer Bats and Gallows thanks to exploring a bit, and I enjoy some of what they do. Also into Riverside and Lunatic Soul, for the more background, instrumental stuff.
I know that really broadened things, but any recommendations would be appreciated!

I am sorta digging the newest Firespawn record. I dig the sort of buzziness of the guitars and the musicianship is pretty good. It's pretty focused too- which I kind of admire. The drums are a little flat at times; boring at others.
It is what I would say is an 'easy listening' metal record like later period Entombed or Enslaved. The irony of which I am fully aware of as I type this sentence. But I do find it pleasant and familiar listening in manner that is just propulsive and hard enough to not put me to sleep.
Maybe Bloodbath-ish? All in my wheelhouse. Maybe it's a somewhat pandering record truth be told. I do enjoy a number of the songs all the same.
Any MDM fans?
