    Re: Metal

Just came back to say that the lack of actual metal in this thread was very high, seeing as this is 'sposed to be a metal-thread. Though the post I quoted made up for some of that lack, saw Mayhem live once, was lé crázy. Also; Bathory is king, accept.

Magrudergrind is pretty good, though I'm unsure about Maruta, but these guys do know what they're talking about.
I thought Magrudergrind was a bad Power Violence band.

They blend grind and PV, but they're pretty good, honestly.
    And I'm not even a grind/PV fan.

They're one of the more known metal bands around, especially after they started using clean vocals.

I pretty much only listen to Periphery and older Between the Buried and Me stuff nowadays, no time for new music. :-X

    Re: Metal

Made an account just for this thread lol, Thrash is my live, going to Hammerfest a metal / thrash festivel is March.

I HATE any "core" metal and shit like Bullet etc.

British and German Thrash are my favorites for example. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3si-5eo5t8Y

I could make a shopping list but favorites are SSS, Gama Bomb, Evile, Mutant, Violator, Warpath, Warbringer and Sepultura.

I could post about thrash all day if needed lol.

I don't have long hair, it really doesn't suit me and believe me I've grown it alot. But I still headbang and go mental in the pits

    Re: Metal

    Ahhh metal.

Let me just start this up by stating that mainstream sucks. And I am saying that in a nice manner

I'm mostly into Melodic Death Metal and Metalcore.

Here's some of my favourite bands together with my favourite songs:

Amon Amarth - Valhalla Awaits Me
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxncDD0aGLs

    Kalmah - Deadmans Shadow
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GP6htlskyc

As I Lay Dying - Forsaken
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TB_D6jIqDf0

    Mygrain - Killing Time
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ai6BF4-4-IU

Eternal Tears of Sorrow - Prophetian < Best Melo/Symph Band around, keyboards blow you away
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeZ9FOCV_M8

Insomnium - Since The Day It All Came Down
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEd04x70AOo

Edge of Serenity - Endless Brutality < Probably the most unknown band on this list
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFoz4W9lARc

    Anterior - Seraph
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzcmrZonMlU

    Neaera - Synergy
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGjEJkxXXSk

    Mors Principium Est - Pressure
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzTmh6KGG94

Long list. But I'm fairly sure true Melodeath fans (Not the stuff which is only becoming too mainstream like Children of Bodom, In Flames, Trivium, Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold etc) will appreciate this. Only 3 or 4 bands in my list have been noted in this forum topic.

If people like these bands and would like to have more. I've got looooooooads.

    Have fun

You probably come closest to me on what bands I like most. Although I don't like Soilwork (Disarmonia Mundi, same singer) and In Flames.

I saw Mayhem live last May at Maryland Deathfest, and I thought my heart might explode (I don't listen to a lot of black metal). It didn't, but it was pretty close.
