New trinket - Which one do I use?

    First of all.

    http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sh...nor&cn=Sasunoo

So, I have three trinkets available now.

    I have http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47725

    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47214

    and
    http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50198

Now, my problem is; Which should I use? I HAVE to use Victor's call, or else I'll need to stack the shit out of Expertise, but which one is better for me of the other two? Banner of Victory or Needle-Encrusted Scorpion?

    All help appreciated.

since NES procs off crits, i would go with it, since you have a decent amount of Crit.¨

but this is a personal preference.

I'd recommend Needle Encrusted Scorpion as well as Banner of Victory; Victor's Call isn't a very good trinket to be honest.

They's be pretty close. Banner is 32 ilevels lower but it's simply very good for its ilevel.

    Check a simulator.

When it comes to trinkets, iLVL is just this side of meaningless.

I'll throw in my vote for NES/BoV combo as well

I'd have to say NES and BoV. Even if you use all the expertise, it's still not a very good trinket. What's more, when you're dealing with a huge chunk of a cappable stat on a trinket, it can make gearing less flexible.

Trinkets have an item budget just like anything. Otherwise DMC:G would never be replaced, simply because its stat allocation is perfect.

Truth is though, it falls behind stuff like death's verdict and DBW, because even though their stats that are inferior to strength in terms of item budget (you dont gem ArP or AP for example) their 58/64 ilevel advantage simply means they can have much more of them.

Yes, in extreme examples it makes a difference, which is why it's just this side of meaningless, and not just meaningless. I mean honestly, tell me another item slot where you would really have a hard decision replacing a 200 with a 232 or 245?

Re: New trinket - Which one do I use?

Most slots probably, if the higher ilevel wasn't ideally itemised. I have a 264 rogue / hunter cloak, I could easily see myself replacing that with a good 232 str cloak.

Yes, trinkets are a bit different, because they have a variety of weird and wacky effects rather than generic static stats, but the effect of ilevel is obvious on them none the less, even on those two trinkets linked.

    ilevel 200: 84 ArP / 1008 AP
    ilevel 232: 114 Crit / 678 ArP

Converting to AP equivalence as demonstrated by gems (the best yardstick we have for item budgets):

    ilevel 200: 168 / 1008
    ilevel 232: 228 / 1356

The 232 is, in general terms, "better" The only reason it's close is that the allocation of its higher item budget isn't that good for DKs, with ArP procs in particular being not that useful.

In spite of this, the 232 is still apparently recommended by most here as being the better trinket. That's entirely down to its higher ilevel - not because it's a good 232 trinket.

Eh.. no? You don't -need- to have expertise completely capped.

Replace Victor's. Use the other two.

Re: New trinket - Which one do I use?

As everyone else stated, use NES and Banner of Victory. Not only is Victor's Call horrible, but you don't honostly need the expertise. I mean sure it's a dps increase getting capped, but point per point the other trinkets would be worth more *points at stat weighs*

    NES/BoV.

Especially since you're Unholy. We have free GCDs in our rotation so we don't NEED Exp cap.

Sorry for acting like a real noob, but what do you mean? Which spell is the one with a free GCD? As far as I've seen, all spells I use share the same GCD.

I'm at 6 expertise now, feels kinda weird, but my DPS has gone up! :P

As a general rule, the phrase "free GCD" means "downtime." As in, time during which you wouldn't be doing anything (you'd normally be squeezing in your Death Coils), so if you have an ability miss you have time to retry without it being a massive DPS loss.

i would go for http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47725 if not expertise capped,
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=47214 if you are expertise capped, Imo, Arp shouldnt be stacked in unholy :<

If this doesn't happen, the game is broken beyond horrific terrible belief and is not worth playing.

I d go with the expertise trinket,
im sitting on 12 exp myself and experience a dodge every now and then,
u dont have to be capped but little more is very useful (sometimes its depending on the encounter/ passive proc)

but there r more important things i d worry about, like no professions and weird gemming ie. the belt...
