For only $650, then this should be worth picking up:

Asus is an amazing brand and that laptop has some really nice specs for such a small price, and it has a dedicated video card which is most important and I think that's the best one in your price range and even has better specs than some of the $750 laptops.
See here if you want to look at others:

That is a complete list of laptops (under $750) with dedicated video cards.

Then again the op might be willing to spend 750 instead of 650 and enjoy a 17" screen

I wouldn't go for 17" unless you keep it at home. I have a 17" and a 15.6" laptop and I really like the 15.6" alot more because it is has a lot better mobility. I can take it everywhere I want easily and it fits (in a sleeve) in a bagOriginally Posted by skakruk
Well laptops are indeed supposed to be mobile. But if changing a rented apartment every 8 month or so is all you need that 'mobility for - 17" is a better choiceOriginally Posted by Logicaly
Ah well, i carry mine around every day from here to there (school, when i stay at other ppl, etc...) - But indeed for once a month or so 17 inch is a good choice :>Originally Posted by skakruk
Thanks alot guys for the reply, helped me loads!!
How is that one better? Not sure which CPU is better (4400 vs 6600) but I'm pretty sure that the graphics card on the Asus (nvidia 320m GT) is better than the one on the Acer (nvidia 130m GT). Other than the CPU and graphics card, they have the same HDD and same RAM.Originally Posted by skakruk
And as far as the 17" goes, it's a matter of personal preference but if you are looking for a laptop then it should be somewhat mobile and 17" laptops are not as mobile and finding cases/sleeves/etc for em is more difficult sometimes.

The cpu is superior without a doubt. And 130m is better than 320m... I think...
Confirmed, 130m is better then 320m:Originally Posted by skakruk

It's in dutch but you get the idea/specs
You can't rank gpu performance strictly by looking at their specs.
I was unable to find any benchmarks for the GT 320m, only quadro 320m which is not the same thing because quadro cards are not always made/optimized for video gaming.

It was announced less than 2 weeks ago, so it's a brand new card which is probably why there aren't any reviews for the laptop I linked on newegg as well as why there are no benchmarks on the video card.

Ah. I thought the Quadro one was the same. Anyhow x20 usually is medium-end, while x30 is high-endOriginally Posted by nwo
