You see refrences every where you look. Quest names, zones, NPC's, bosses, pvp, and of course holiday events.

I think one of the 7 "Wonders" is definitely that statue. As well as maybe Blackrock mountain? The lore and depth of the mountain itself is amazing

The Dark Portal, should be one, maybe Wyrmrest Temple?

Re: 7 wonders of the World (of Warcraft)

Well, does it have to be Azeroth specific? I'd say it should be.

Azeroth's 7 Wonders of the World:

    7. The Ruins of Lordaeron

The former seat of what was, arguably, the most powerful human kingdom before its decimation during the Third War is now a derelict shadow of its former glory. The Forsaken, inadvertently, have warped it into something that no proud human could ever stomach; finishing what Arthas had initially set out to do if Illidan hadn't managed to hurt Ner'zhul/The Lich King with his spell.

    6. The Great Troll Cities

All in all, Zul'Gurub, Zul'Drak, and Zul'Aman form the 6th ancient wonder of Azeroth. They serve as a reminder of the trolls' expansive power base as well as a reminder of the corrupting nature of dark powers. Surprisingly, the troll cities have remained mostly intact.

    5. The Dark Portal (Azeroth)

The Dark Portal sits in the Blasted Lands, which, in turn, were created by the Dark Portal. Formerly a lush swamp, they were decimated after Medivh used the Portal's boundless fel energy to assist in summoning the Orc armies into Azeroth from Draenor.

    4. The Temple of Atal'Hakkar (Sunken Temple)

The Sunken Temple would not be so important if not for its history. Supposedly the place where Hakkar's followers went after they were chased from Zul'Gurub, Ysera saw what they were attempting to do and thus stomped their temple into the murky water of the Swamp of Sorrows. The temple is practically inaccessible due to the contingency of green dragons that defend it...And the long swim to its drier areas beneath the surface.

    3. The Great Crystal Tree

I wasn't too sure if this one had a name or not. Within Crystalsong Forest, there sits a great and shattered tree made entirely out of vibrant, gleaming crystal. Although all of the trees in this part of Crystalsong are afflicted with this sort of crystalline appearance, this one is the largest of them and contributes some small amount of beauty to a continent where it is in very short supply.

    2. The World Tree, Nordrassil

Ancient and still-standing Nordrassil is. Nordrassil has been previously threatened by the Burning Legion as they planned to consume its power and then consume all of Azeroth; there was a Well of Eternity beneath it. Fortunately, Malfurion Stormrage and the spirits of nature were able to defeat Archimonde and stop the vile Legion from achieving victory. Nordrassil still stands today with Archimonde's rotten bones at its base. The World Tree is a reminder of what the night elves have lost.

    1. Icecrown Citadel

The Lich King, during a 5 year period of inactivity, mentally willed his undead minions to create for him a fortress capable of defending his holdings at Icecrown Glacier. They built the walls from Saronite, the blood of Yogg-Saron, and created a terrifying testament to their master's appearance in the form of Icecrown Citadel. No decorations, no gaudy paintings or ribbons; the Citadel is built for one purpose and that purpose is to house some of the most vile creations of the Lich King. Although the fortress was recently built, it can be considered a wonder due to the fact that the undead managed to build it in just five years time. Icecrown Citadel will remain, forever, a tribute to the Scourge and to humanity's most wayward son, Arthas Menethil.

    Dear developers,

please nerf Rock, it's too overpowered. Paper is fine, however.

Re: 7 wonders of the World (of Warcraft)

I think we should list natural and man/orc/gnome/dwarf/elf/forsaken/tauren/dranei(lol) made wonders.

This could be tricky, as say Blackrock Mountain is technically race made.

Also, Thunderbluff - natural wonder with a city on top.

The Twin Colossos in Feralas are impressive, and you can base jump off them (but do buy the parachute off the NPC first)

Re: 7 wonders of the World (of Warcraft)

I try to think of things I went "wow" (no pun intended) when I first saw them. I think a few have already been listed. Ones I would add:

-The whole UK/UP fortress is pretty impressive.
-Technically it's a boat, but VC's ship is great, especially when you first see it. I think after so many years it is underappreciated.
    -Nexus without a doubt
-Booty Bay statue, and the bay in and of itself
-Stormwind Harbor is fantastic. Another thing I think is underappreciated in the game
-Blackrock mountain should be on everyone's list.
-From a lore perspective, the portal to outland

Wyrmrest temple, Titan's path and Ulduar, though all are connected.
The Allies would've definitely lost World War II if the Horde had taken part

Re: 7 wonders of the World (of Warcraft)

They would probably be dungeons / raids.

I cant think of anything more impressive than the inner working of Ulduar. Giant machines, lush forests, ice caverns all in the same area.

After that I would probably say:

Thandol Span (the bridge between Wetlands / Arathi)
    Stonewrought Damn in Loch Modan
The ruins of Ravencres Monument in Azshara
    Utguard Keep (it's pretty massive)
Azjol-Nerub (how could bugs make that massive an underground city?)
Naxxaramus (used to be a Nerubian temple but transformed with undeath still impressive)
Dalaran (yeah I know two floating cities big whoop, still makes my top 7)
