ICS Vortex, I know he's been named but I think he's one of the better clean vocals out there. I like Shagrath from Dimmu as well, just hate that they got rid of Vortex :-\. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9cqKafnUrk for both of them.

You mentioned you liked Iced Earth, so you've probably heard of Blind Guardian / Demons & Wizards, if not check out Hansi Kürsch:

And so many others that my head would explode if I had to list them all.

Wow, this is a solid list of Power Metal singers. Throw in Mathias Blad of Falconer and I think you've got it, except Mustaine of course.

Re: Metal - Leadsingers and their voice

Tommy from BTBAM and Rody from PTH are fantastic choices.

I'm pretty partial to death growls and for me Johan Lindstrand from The Crown is untouchable. Deep enough to be a death growl but high enough to keep that melodic death metal feel. IMO he's one of the best death metal vocalists on the planet easily.

    The Crown- Deathexplosion
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDUNHDUIFAE
"Of beast and man am I"

The Crown- Executioner (Slayer of the Light)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LroonrXs1Y

and while we're on the Crown, they kick ass and had Tomas Lindberg on vocals for one album and it was ace.

Angela of Arch Enemy is probably the most overrated. There are way better female metal vocalists who can actually growl. Take Runhild Gammelsæter for example, who recorded this album when she was 17 years old:

There are so many quality metal vocalists I have difficulty narrowing anyone down, but for now I'll just throw out someone I don't think was mentioned yet, Martin van Drunen:

Early 90's Norwegian Black Metal ftw.

Mustaine does it for me ;D

    My personal favorites:

    Marc Hudson (Dragonforce) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mLf2K5V5S4
Brandon Davis (Across The Sun) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSDi1KvUIcE&ob=av2e
    Howard Jones (ex-Killswitch Engage) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zb1Wghne1w&ob=av2n
Tim Lambesis (As I Lay Dying) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLd6h5td8G4

There's a lot more, but I don't feel like naming all of them.

Geoff Tate of Queensrÿche. He's somwehat similar to Bruce and Rob, but he sings more cleanly and often in a really high pitch. Take Hold of the Flame and Roads to Madness are good examples.
Wow, you picked pretty much everyone I would have with this. The only one I would probably add off the top of my head would be the late great Ronnie James Dio.

Anders Fridén - In Flames, fucking awesome band and a sick singer
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IQ2-zQck_0

Bruce Dickinson - Iron Maiden, the power and range in that mans voice is incredible

    Clean:

    -Timo Kotipelto of Stratovarius
-Joacim Cans of Hammerfall, although his voice has now lost some of the godlike power it had in the late 90s
    -Tony Kakko of Sonata Arctica
-Fabio Lione of Rhapsody (not going to call them "of Fire")
    -Michael Kiske of (ex) Helloween

As for growling, I'm just going to say John Tardy of Obituary. Slowly We Rot came in 1989, and the power and extreme brutality of his voice is still unmatched to this day:

    Also worth mentioning:
-Chuck Shuldiner of Death (excluding The Sound of Perseverance)
-Martin van Drunen of Pestilence and Asphyx
    -Brett Hoffman of Malevolent Creation

Jari Mäenpää of Wintersun (ex Ensiferum) and Petri Lindroos (ex Norther) for the best "Finish Melodeath Growl"
They're (short for They are) describes a group of people. "They're/They are a nice bunch of guys." Their indicates that something belongs/is related to a group of people. "Their car was all out of fuel." There refers to a location. "Let's set up camp over there." There is also no such thing as "could/should OF". The correct way is: Could/should'VE, or could/should HAVE.

You should know him from the legendary Edge of Sanity, or the amazing prog-rock band Nightingale, from death growls to clean singing he is amazing. If you like Opeth, who do you think was producing them in the early days and giving Akerfeldt some tips in good singing .

Name your favorite Melodeath band, he has been there, name your favorite melodic/progressive european band, he has been invited to do something (from mixing to sing or do a solo). For info in some of his work, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Swanö

and other really great singers i like:
    Daniel Gildenlöw (Pain of Salvation)
    Matt Barlow (Iced Earth)
Edu Falaschi (Angra) became a believer when i saw him live, he is spectacular.
Liv Kristine (ex-Theater of Tragedy, Leaves Eyes)
You get a cookie. I agree with all this. Glad to see someone mention Daniel Gildenlow, he's freaking amazing. Along the same vain you have to mention Mike Patton as well.

Suprised someone above mentioned Chuck from Death (RIP) and excluded what I thought was an AMAZING vocal performance in The Sound of Perseverance. I mean the cover of Pain Killer? Damn.

But I have to mention one of the greatest metal singers of all time (I never really considered them grunge, at least not until later) Chris Cornell. Doubt me?

I dunno sounds like metal to me. And though his voice isn't what it once was, in his prime he was one of the best singers out there.

Bruce Dickinson is by far my favorite vocalist, his voice and range is so god damn amazing and imo he keeps getting better, especially live.

    Other vocalists that I love:

James Hetfield - Metallica (Screw the haters, I still love his voice)
Ronnie James Dio - Dio/Black Sabbath/Heaven and Hell etc
    Rob Halford - Judas Priest/solo
    Roy Khan - Kamelot
    Joey Belladonna - Anthrax

The vocals on TSoP are good. But I was talking about growling, and his growling is much higher pitched on that album, and lacks the power that it has on, say Human and Individual Thought Patterns

Ah got ya. I heard that was because of the toll the cancer treatments were taking on him. It was a really interesting vocal performance, almost like a cross between a high power metal scream (ala Halford or Ripper) with a mid/upper range growl. I tend more towards stuff that isn't super low. Part of why I like Orphaned Land's growls so much I guess. They are in that sorta mid range area as well (though less power metal influenced than the vocals on TSOP).

I'm really depressed we never got a second Control Denied album, there were moments of brilliance in the first one but it didn't quite come together. I have a feeling the second one would have been something special.
