Recently i saw the lightning thief, and although im not going to talk about the movie one of the 'monsters' in the movie gave me an idea for a raid boss, it was the Hydra.

What happened in the movie was that when the Hydra lost a head two more grew back so i thought of a fight that might be interesting in Cataclysm in the Ayssal Maw.

NOTE: This boss is not in an underwater room, the room is completely dry, with a small area of water.

Damage per hit on plate 10 man (with no buffs which it will have) - 15-16k every three-four seconds.
Damage per hit on plate 25 man (with no buffs) - 20-22k every three-four seconds
Hard Mode per hit on plate 10 man (no buffs) - 24-25k per three-four seconds
Hard Mode per hit on plate 25 man (no buffs) - 28-30k per three-four seconds

Enrage Timer Normal Mode - 8 Minutes
Enrage Timer Heroic Mode - 6 Minutes
Raid Layout: There are many destructible pillars placed within the room, and two semi-circle pools of water to the left and right sides each reaching about 10 yds in depth and an area of 60 squared yards.

This is a multi-targetable boss, each head is targettable aswell as the body (you have to kill this to win the fight).

The Heads - Each head on the Hydra increases the damage by the amount of percentage the head has left, there are three heads. Each head has 400k health on 10 man, 2200k health on 25 man, 1100k health on 10 man hard mode, and 5200k health on 25 man hard mode. 50% of the damage you do the head is also done to the body of the hydra (which must be killed to win the fight.)

Regrowth - When a head reaches 0%, two more heads spawn.

Flaming Breath - Every 40 seconds each head turns to a different direction sending a flaming breath in (# of heads up) directions, getting caught in the flame will deal 30k damage on normal mode and 40k damage on heroic, this will leave a ticking dot dealing 5k damage per second (7k per second on heroic), to remove the dot you must get into one of the water pools. This breath also deals 5% damage to each head of the Hydra. You may stop the breath from reaching a pillar if it is intercepted by a player.

Pillars - If a flaming breath touches a pillar it will fall, if there are no pillars left in the room the roof crumbles on the raid dealing 10000k damage to every raid member, this will also kill anybody bubbled, detterenced, or di'ed. There are 5 pillars within the room on normal mode, 3 pillars in the room on heroic mode.

Enraged Head - During a random part of the fight a head may recieve an enraging warning, if the head is not killed within 15 seconds (on normal) 10 seconds (on heroic) it will permantly enrage the Hydra increasing its damage by 1000%.

Heroic Mode Only Pillar Charge - The Hydra charges at a random pillar, the only way to stop it is for a player to intercept the hydra, anyone who intercepts the Hydra takes 1000k damage. This happens every minute.

Heroic Mode Only Mouth Grab - Every 30 seconds each Hydra head grabs a random player dealing 10k damage per second for 5 seconds. This will not happen in the middle of a pillar charge or flaming breath.

Achievements -

They shall not crumble - Beat Rok'Tar without any pillars crumbling.

No heads for you - Beat Rok'Tar while killing at least five heads in the process.

Heads up - Beat Rok'Tar without a head dying.
