Hey all,
Well, I've had my mage quite a while now..and I just can't seem to get the hang of gems and enchants etc.
Can you tell me what I need to change?
I am pretty useless with it all and just kind of go with what I think.

1. Use rawr: www.codeplex.com/Rawr

2. Hit rating is waaaay over cap. Drop that crappy hit trinket (Shard of the Crystal Heart) and find something to replace it. Sundial of the Exiled is even better, but Abyssal Rune from ToC 5 normal is your best bet (outside of a raid drop).

3. Fix up your gems. Red sockets: Runed (pure sp). Yellow sockets: Reckless (sp/haste). Blue sockets: Purified (sp/spirit) until you lose your 2pt9. Then see the FAQ for details or bug us again. Exception: your neck has a crappy socket bonus so you're right to put pure SP in it. Legs have an SP/crit gem--make that an SP/haste gem. Get the socket bonus on chest. Bunch of sp/stam gems which should be sp/spirit. (Gem changes will only be worth a few DPS each, but as a whole they are worth a lot, so if you're poor, it might be worth changing them only on your best pieces like the robe and only changing the rest as you get gear to replace it).

4. Get Band of the Invoker from triumph emblems to replace the Polished Dragonslayer's Signet.

5. Enchants: Black Magic on your main hand; 30 sp/20 crit helm enchant; 50 sp/20 spirit legs enchant; Tuskarr's Vitality boots enchant

6. Level your enchanting to 400 so you can get the ring enchants (23 sp x 2) or pick another crafting profession (Tailoring or Engineering are best) and get to 400 for that profession's bonus.

7. Post more pics. They improve your DPS. =D

I would do, but I idiotically bought the non-tier 9 head and gave my trophy away,
not been able to get a trophy since.




&& how do I use Rawr?
I've downloaded it, unzipped it, and it says open rawr.exe and i can't find that anywhere.
Technology really doesn't like me

Should be somewhere within the files you unzipped.

Anyway, I'd say 4pt9 232 would be better than your helm, but if you have remotely close to 60 tokens, you should be getting the T10 shoulders soon anyway (or get lucky and get gloves or legs from Vault). At that point, it won't matter.

The 232 version is better since you get the set bonus. Although if you are close to obtaining another t10 piece I would not bother with t9 head and get the emblem ring with spirit/haste instead.

Seeing as you naturally have high hit ratings. ie. purely from gear. You should trade your arcane talents that up your hit% and put it in the +Spirit%.

Oh snap, I totally overlooked the meta. Yeah, Chaotic Skyflare is huge and you should switch immediately.

Also, feeding attention whores is fun. You feed them a bunch since they really like it... then stop. It drives them more crazy than not feeding them. =P j/k post pics.
