    Heirlooms in Clysm?

    Hey.
First of all i dont know if there is already a topic regarding this subject, so if it is, please delete this post.

I was just thinking , will it be possible to wear heirlooms when the level cap hits to 85?
And if so , will that be a good thing?
Everytime you whine, blizzard lags a server.

The last I heard of it, WotLK's heirlooms will only scale until level 80, but the bind-to-guild heirlooms will work until 85.
This line will not change of my own volition until Knaak stops screwing Warcraft Lore to write more bad fanfics.

    Thanks Amuno!

Yeah, I remember that either Bornakk, Zarhym, or Neph remarked on the matter shortly after Blizzcon, I wasn't sure if the devs decided to let them keep scaling or not. On another note, does anyone else hope they reuse t1 or t2 models for the Bind-to-Guild heirlooms?

Wouldn't that be awesome. I've always thought the T2 sets were the best looking, and they still are today.

Off-Topic: "Clysm" would get my vote for the 'easy-to-miss-but-obvious-abbreviation' award.
    Saving for Cata.

I'd agree except for the warrior set. I prefer t1, t4, and t8 for them.

All of the current Heirlooms were either really popular high level blues, like Arcanite Reaper and Shadowcraft armour, entry level epics like Dwarven Hand Cannon and Headmaster's Charge, or just really popular lower level items like Herod's Shoulder and Truesilver Champion. I'm sure we'd all love to be running around Durotar on our level 2 warrior alts with Wrath Shoulders and Ashkandi, but I don't think it will happen.

Personally, I'd like them to use TBC items this time round, there are lots of good looking items they can use.

Just a few items I think would be good candidates to be reused.

Clysm sounds sounds like something biological like a disease or a bodypart.. anyway, it sounds funky and gets my vote as the new 'TBC/WotLK' for Cataclysm

Edit: Omg I just got this huge clysm on my neck that just won't go away! :'(
Signature.. Am I doing this right?

Just a quick note here. I'm pretty sure that while blizzard will allow some heirloom items in cata if you use them you probably wont be eligible for the level 85 first achievements.

They're actually retextures of tier 3. I think the tbc raiding sets are far too epic looking (read: glowy) to be heirlooms though.

Items will stop scaling capping at lv80 stats, and xp bonus will stop when you ding 80.

Basically so that you can use those for 1-80 leveling for bonus, but it will get replaced during first 1-2 levels by Cataclysm greens.

I know heirloom gear won't scale past 80, but will it still offer the experience boost on chest, shoulder, and ring? I think I'd be OK with keeping it level 80 if I can replace every other piece of gear if I'm trying to power level an alt.

Close, that would be a sist.

I hope they use t1 and t2, I never got to use those sets on retail servers and they looked awesome

Two things: Finkle's Lava Dredger, an item that drops off a boss a good way into Molten Core, was used as an heirloom, and two, TBC gear was horribly designed. Yes, it fit the expansion, but just about all of Outland is a bit anachronitic with the feel of the setting.

Druids gonna get screwed at their T1 Model then, it's just a bush.. Well i'm taking the shot at Cataclysm, they don't scale to lvl 85 (as i assume its with stats) but maybe the X% will still be there, perhaps i don't see how they will make it impossible unless they're redesigning it or it was designed that way

Finkle's was added way late into WoTLK though, I personally think they just used a flashy item as an apology for taking so long. As for the items not fitting in, well, they don't fit in any less than T2 on level 10 characters, in my opinion.

Not retextures, just inspired by. At least in the case of Assassination vs Bonescythe, the model is different. Best example is the shoulders. Just look at them both and see.
