    Putricide goo

    Hey guys,

    We are trying now Putricide 25 and we managed to control the adds part by tanking him on the green slime side and dps-ing the green slime the moment it come out.
    We have lots of problems with range avoiding the goo in p2 and we tried different positionings for them, but some still get hit. Maybe they fail as skill more then others, but well, they are ours
    I wonder if there are any tips you can give me regarding positioning for range in p2, beside recruiting new range players

    Tell them to not stand too close to the boss or they won't have time to move. And tell them to move sideways, not away/closer to the boss when avoiding goo since it's hard to judge how far it's going to fly.

    And tell them to keep an eye on a timer for the goo (in dbm for example) and an eye on the boss when it's gootime. You don't need to watch the slime to dps it!

    DBM gives an extra alert if the Goo is coming to the spot you're currently at. All of your ranged got that?

    Bigwigs will actualy say "malleable goo on me!" in /say

    Also, I think bigwigs will warn you when it gets thrown at someone close to you, im not sure about that 1 though.

    I just look at the boss, and move when it flies my way..

    Basically if you have that, you need to move and there should be no problem with the range.

    However my guild would get difficulties when the green slime would come out, the melee would wait a few and then go on it. What would suck is when Prof. would cast the malleable goo and as the melee is running to the slime, they would get hit by one/two of them.

    The best thing you can do for putricide is to break things up so people have a home spot.

    We use 2 caster groups and melee group. The two caster groups form with one near entrance of room and other right above where boss is standing. This way things are split up a bit with enough healers/bodies able to absorb any green aoe if you don't kill it before it reaches target.

    The nice thing about using groups like this is the casters always get the mallable and if you're stacked its easy to strafe to avoid it and sooner or later everyone will strafe in the general direction that is safest because they're comfortable with something they have been repeating.

    of course, dbm makes it trivial with a warning that it is ON you as well as near you and the target will have a dbm target on their head.

    Awareness is the key, if there is any sense of chaos in positioning then people will not be watching for mallable goo period.

    When you say having the 2nd range group where the boss is standing means near the table (where he is standing on pull) or on top of the mellee(where he is when we dps)?

    Near the table for one group. THe group that does the most movement is the one near entrance as they move a little bit towards right wall when brown ooze is up (till it selects target) and back towards left wall or door more when green ooze is up (till it selects target).

    Position is relevant because it all depends on how good your 2nd tank is sucking (har har har) but as long as you try and give people an area to cluster and move as a group its a much easier encounter on the mind and thus less prone to mistakes
