    expertise starved

as i get farther and farther in icc and i get more and more icc gear im finding less and less expertise.

i know its uncalled for but i should i gem expertise i only have like 12 basically everything from blood talent.

or is it not worth it and should i just stay behind a boss as much as i can.

i know stayin behind the boss is usually wat dps does but in a face to face battle like the adds in lady deathwhisper i miss quite a lot

    wat should i do

You should stay behind whatever you are hitting as much as you can regardless, deathwhisper adds are not an exception.

But yes, as blood if your gear is even half decent you want to be expertise capped even if you have to gem for it.

    Lanathel's Chain of Flagellation
    Skeleton Lord's Circle
    Might of the Ocean Serpent

These are all pretty good items to pick up and swap out whenever you need to juggle some expertise around. The neck was even BiS (well, the heroic one) last time I checked.

    Re: expertise starved

The DK tier 10 legplates have ~80 expertise on them, if I recall correctly.
I plan to lose my Tier 9.5 helm when I get them.

Otherwise you can't go wrong with the cape that someone previously mentioned.

I'm finding the same at the moment as i regear towards my optimal set.

I picked up the professor putricide 10 man neck piece since we dont have Blood queen down yet as a guild on 25.

Apart from that, the t10 legs as above, badge cloak and a selection of rings all seem to have just about enough expertise to get us through.

LDW if your not behind the adds you get cleaved and die Big dps killer you never gem for exp period if your dps isnt high enough your missing something else rotation not hit capped but exp is only really needed if your trying to break that i can only do 5k dps barrier and not to be rude but it doesnt your to that point yet as i Tank on my DK i know im not when it comes to dps but i have dpsed 25 man PUGs and i dont miss hardly at all

    Re: expertise starved

What does this has to do with standing behind the boss? You still need 26 expertise BEHIND the boss to remove these nasty "Dodge" messages. More is needed to reduce parry which only occurs if you stand in front of the boss. 26 is minimum, because a missed swing(strike) because the boss dodged is 0 damage. (Bosses, in contrast to players, dodge when attacked from behind)

    edit:
    HIT removes MISS
EXPERTISE removes DODGE ( and PARRY (only when attacking from the front)

Missed attack = 0 Damage done
Dodged attack = 0 Damage done

Expertise is worth gemming as blood. And it becomes more important as your gear gets better, not less.

    Re: expertise starved

Why are you standing in front of deathwhisper? The adds have a frontal cleave and there's nothing to stop you from standing behind her.

    Re: expertise starved

Death and decay may force you to get in the occasional attack from the front but there aren't any bosses in icecrown where you have to spend a large amount of time doing so.

So no that isn't what you said. You also said

which implies that it is only needed at low gear levels, so not only is it wrong but you also contradicted yourself. Your post wasn't easy to read anyway due to a complete lack of structure or punctuation. As for breaking the 5k dps barrier, people were doing that a year ago.
