Why not normal servers and heroic servers?

This eternal discussion about where the difficulty should be.

Why isn't Blizzard just creating hardmode servers for those who want to play like that, and keep the biggest chunk of servers like normal now?

Hardmode servers: No badgevendors, no voa pve loot, no icc buff boost.

Normal servers: Just like now.

With the ICC buff it's really easy to just give the normal servers the buff and skip it for hardmode servers.

Would be a very smooth way for Blizzard to just make everyone happy.

Nobody would play. Same with vanilla/tbc servers. Because you can just stick with your current server and ignore the aspects that you don't like. These servers would be totally empty.

No it wouldn't make everyone happy. You fail to recognize
what really motivates these arguments. The "hardcore" people
who constantly throw around terms like "casual" and "terribad"
are really butt hurt that everyone eventually (the key word) gets
access to all the same stuff. Plus they would hate it if they were
on their own server with no one to prance in front of with thier exclusive gear.
You see thats what its all about. If it were about difficulty, they would
forgo normal modes when possible, forgo buffs, forgo badge gear et all.
Its about getting something developed exclusively for them and only them.
Its about harkening back to classic WoW when one or two guilds on a server
was in Naxx because the time sink required wouldn't allow 95% of paying subscribers
to get much past BWL and the first few bosses in AQ40.

Let them cry, let them claim the sky is falling. End of WoW!!!!
Nothing is going to change, and that is for the better.

This is not really true. Ignoring aspects is just making things artificially harder. Like running with bad gear to get a challenge. A set of rules applied to the whole world server would be another thing.

No it means nothing is perfect, EVERYTHING in life has flaws.

That doesn't mean you can't enjoy something imperfect, to be happy (in life) you have to be able to look past flaws and just live (play the game you enjoy)

Yes Blizzard could do a lot of stuff, but they have millions of people to consider and 5 years of history (burden) to carry with them

It's a valid argument, and making heroic servers would be nothing short of just a waste of money, all it would end up achieveing is tons of half empty realms, dead communities and so on. In general it would solve nothing and only serve as loss for everyone and not just the players, but Blizzard as well.

But this sounds more like malice from your side? Getting back at people who was mean at level 60?

I don't think people who really play and search for a challenge and timesink care much about the next guy.

I would just love to get all hardcore vs casual shouting in trade gone. If you are complaining you are on the wrong server, easy as that.

Of course Blizzard wouldn't make more normal or hardmode servers than was needed? Like they do now. They don't create a hundred more RP servers which stand half empty. No they make as many as seem needed.

If they make new realms for players to migrate to other realms will suffer because of this, adding new realms wont magically create thousands of new players to fill up the loss on the realms that would suffer from this. Theyc ant delete or just merge realms either as this would be even worse for business.

All in all normal realms would lose players and become half empty, not enough players would migrate to these new realms to maintain a good community and decent realm economy. I dare say it would make even more people unhappy and they would have REAL complaints on their hands instead of just ego tripping elitists whining about not being special anymore.

But if the normal mode servers really are THAT unattractive to so many people as you think it's just a huge mistake to force everyone to play on them. Free migrates has solved things when they created for ex spanish servers. I can be solved like that just as easy.

You speak the truth. You can never please everyone, people will always complain. Blizzard could release something that was absalutely flawless and people would still complain about it.

if there isnt some achievement to prove people did it some new challengin way, then people dont seem to want to do it. Basicaly, if its something that i cant inflate my ego with, then its a problem

I don't think this theoretical choice you see has any practical impact at all; everyone choses the same.
