    Help! Resto Druid!

Alright so here's the deal. http://www.wowarmory.com/character-s...s&cn=Sulcortap

I'm currently working on getting Vestments of Spruce and Fir for my chest piece and I think the guild I am in is getting close to breaking through and killing both members of the Blood Wing, so I would grab Dying Light.

Now here's where I am confused. Once I grab those two items, I will be way over the haste cap. And I know people say to gem for straight up spellpower but all the bonus' are +5 or +7 Spellpower so I could grab some other stats while only losing 4 to 15 spellpower in some cases.

Should I gem straight spellpower at that point or match the socket bonus', and if so, what should I gem for each socket?

Generally if the socket colour is yellow/red and the bonus is +7 or +9 SP i'd gem for it, using either SP/haste or SP/int depending on your haste

If you are over haste cap, gem pure sp. If bonus is more than 7 sp gem 12 sp/10 spi or 12 sp/10 crit I belive

    You have several options really:
You can either start gemming simply pure Sp in the sockets and ignore decent socket bonuses or gem for SP/int and SP/spi. Another option is to keep going for a bit more haste and start taking points out of celestial focus.

I hope I was a bit helpful and good luck

I'd like to start by saying good idea with that, your going to want to get the 4 piece teir 10 eventually but this chest piece is better then the teir piece so I'm glad to see you picked to get that one.

Good luck getting <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50181">Dying Light</a> to drop. I've been going for it as well but my guild has killed blood queen every week its been out and litterally every single time we've killed her she's dropped <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50182">Blood Queen's Crimson Choker</a>. However lots of druids seem to have it so I wish you the best of luck on getting it to drop.

After looking at your armory page I see you use the following gems to match all sockets:

I would suggest that you get rid of the <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40151">Luminous Ametrine</a> before you do anything else.

Looking at your specs you have 2 Restoration specs both with <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=16924">Celestial Focus</a> spec'd into up to rank 3.</a>

After getting haste capped you could try taking your talent points out of <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=16924">Celestial Focus</a> and putting them where they will be more useful however be aware that when you do this your hard haste cap will change from 735 to 856 if you go from 3/3 to 0/3 in the talent (this is the numbers assuming you have all haste benifitial raid buffs including :

For more info on where you might want to put your talents if you take them out of CF, <a href="http://www.therestorationdruid.com/G...ng.html">Click Here</a>

Another option would be to start replacing your <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40128">Quick King's Amber</a>'s with <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40155">Reckless Ametrine</a> slowly easing yourself from geming haste to geming spell power as you gear up even more.

Hope this has been helpful if you have a chance you should check out my blog at <a href="http://www.TheRestorationDruid.com/"...nDruid.com</a> for more information that could be useful for your tree druid.

I never saw the point in gemming for haste as I dont see the point in using the rapid rejuv glyph no fight has required it as of yet to my understanding, so I never gemmed for haste as any resto druid should know Spell Power is still our best stat. In my opninion gemmin for haste is a waste of a gem slot as you will get haste capped with gear.

well when your raiding and want to progress as best you can you want to be able to put out as many heals as you can right? Well the more haste you have the more spells you can cast in a certain amount of time so if you have the glyph of rapid rejuvenation and your haste capped you can have rejuvenation on 15 people at once. where as if your not haste capped you can only get up to 10. Also with rapid rejuvenation your ticks have less time in between each other so basically you heal quicker. So why wouldn't you want to gem into haste? I mean sure spell power stacking your ticks will heal for more but you won't be able to heal as many people at once as you would with your haste capped and then stacking spellpower after you get capped.

Even without Repid Rejuv, Haste decreases your GCD, meaning you cast (or recover from casting) all spells quicker. Druids are greatly hampered by the GCD, so decreasing it will help you go a long way to improving your performance.

All I will add is a 735 gcd is great, especially in 25m's. In 10mans however you may not have Swift Ret/Imp Moonkin + WoA totem so having gear that can push your haste to 850-1000 is a good idea. Subtract 3/3 CF and you better be stacking so serious haste or you're well far behind in a group without the other players buffs.

what i ment by never saw the point in gemming for haste is that you can get well over the cap with gear alone aswell on top of that.

    Re: Help! Resto Druid!

Start working on getting capped without CF before you gem all SP like others have said.

If you aren't running oom, you don't need more spirit unless the SP/spi gem(counting the spi converted to sp too) is greater than a reg sp gem+the socket bonus. If you are having mana problems, use blue socket bonuses.

If you are capped without CF for your specific raid set up more haste is nice, but no need to gem it, you will get plenty with gear.
