Gold Farmer gets there just deserts

So recently my account got hacked by placing an unauthorized authenticator on my account, i just vary recently managed to get it back, and when i did, i found something quite strange. It seems that whoever hacked my account had been using my main to farm gold. They had been sending it to a level 1 who was than banking it, however, it just so happened that they did not wipe out the level one before i recovered it, and so in the process of getting my account back i also got around 2k gold. I am content

Had the same thing happen to me , but not only 2k on the level 1 but 25k in the lowbies guild bank that , mysteriously I was the leader .

happened to me to. I got hacked, they merged my acc to a battle.net acc, so I didn't have a pw oder a username, it took blizz a couple of days to freeze my account.

while i was waiting, my guildies told me that they have seen my char afk in wintergrasp all day.
when I got my acc back, I didn't have anything. a day later I got mail from a Gm, with everything that I had before.
this included 18 stacks of saronite or and a stack each of eternal earth/water/etc, after a lot of people whispered me, I finally figured out, that the chinese gold farmer who had played my account while it was hacked, used my char to gather ores in wintergrasp, using an exploitive method, which involves being under the ground.
they must have sent all this stuff to an alt, but blizz restored everythign i had, even badges, gray stuff that i vendored, and on my enchanter, where my gear was disenchanted, I got back every single item with enchanting scrolls and gems

I said Ashes of Al'ar, and Reins of the Twilight drake. The GM replies I know that you didn't have those mounts but I'm feeling generous today and sure enough he gave me them I think I have a screenie I'll post it if I can find it.

Forgive us all for being a little skeptical. I mean, GMs just give away the rarest mount in the game all the time right?

And to the OP and others in this thread, I am glad you got hacked and merged to an account and I wish you had lost gold/gear instead of getting it back. There is a warm place in my heart for gold sellers in WoW.

You idiots need to stop using the same username/pass for everything, stop visiting shady sights, clean your system of keyloggers and viruses, and everything else that takes 30 seconds of your time but you don't feel like doing. Oh and ESPECIALLY you should have gotten an authenticator as soon as they came out, and merged your account so someone else could not.

So long story short, I feel sorry for you that your account got compromised (NOT hacked). Sorry that you got all your stuff back and won't learn a damn thing.

My account was hacked not to long ago and when i got it back not only did i have 4k gold on my lvl 12 rogue that shoudlnt have been there but my mail box had 6 primordial saronites 4-5 crusader orbs and 20-25 epic gems...needless to say it made me feel a little better about the whole getting hacked thing.

LOL. No. If he did do this though, he'd likely be fired by now. Not just one but, two of the rarest mounts in the game? Highly unlikely. Also, if you can't find the screenshot of him giving it to you, why not take two of you riding on each?

the ads on both sites have keylogged people after mousing over them.

in march 09, wow.com was LOADED with bugged ads for about a week

this shit doesn't come from porn sites or this site from what i've seen, mostly what i've found is shit on wow.com and curse.com (ads and addons they didn't check, i don't think they screen them at all)

if you haven't been hacked, you're lucky, not good. the only thing you can really do is get the authenticator, everything else is easy to compromise.

they're ahead of us, we're not ahead of them. it's always gonna be that way. look at the recent hacks of accounts that had authenticators attached.
