Floaty head thing of the Naaru

So, I've been wondering this for a while and, having never played a high level draenei holy paladin, I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on if Gift of the Naaru is useful at all for healing.

If you will play a class that cannot heal it is somewhat useful.
If you will play a class that can heal, or is a healer, then it's close to useless.

Best thing about draenei is the 1% hit aura.

It doesn't cause a GCD, so there's no real downside to using it at all. However, it's a bit of a small drop in the bucket, won't really make or break anything. Also scales better for rets than it does for holydins.

It's nice to have, just to have another button to press every now and then.
    Too cool for a sig.

    0 Mana cost HoT cooldown.
= depends. It scales with SP/AP (which is higher), don't know how much it heals with great healing gear.

I've found a couple of uses for it, though minor it does come in handy.
If you feel the need to run across the room during a heroic Blood Princes encounter, pop Gift of the Naaru. I also use it during Bloodbolt Whirl on BQL and if BOOONE STOOORM comes my way.
It doesn't cost mana, you can use it during a gcd. Basically a free hot. Coupled with a quick insta-flash heal it's saved my life a time or two.

But we all know the real reason to roll a space cow.

If it's anything, it ticks for ~1400 or so on my shaman when totally unbuffed (~2.8k spellpower without flametongue wep).

I usually make use of GotN in situations where the raid is taking a lot of damage. Y'know, to make the healers' jobs slightly easier.

It's actually a big, no GCD heal for hunters, enhance shaman, and rets. Makes it quite nice in PVP, especially when your healer needs a couple seconds before he can get to you. Also good for soloing and for healing pets if you're a hunter as it can be used on anyone.

    Moving + paladin = useful

Re: Floaty head thing of the Naaru

I've found it to be quite useful on my shaman, I use it for moments where I have to move and I need to be healed. Quick free hot can't complain!

My shaman is also a herbalist, so I made a macro for Lifeblood and Gift of the Naruu to heal me whenever I'm about to take massive damage.

So basically it's useful but not that useful.

Like most racials. None of them is game-changingly awesome, or everyone would roll that race.
